Fred Van Lente writes the Young Gods? Sign me up.

The Ms. Marvel "Marvel Pirates" one-shot looks like fun.

They couldn't get Gaydos back to draw the Luke Cage/Jessica Jones story in NEW AVENGERS? Awww.

Two appearances by the Winter Guard in one month?

NEW WARRIORS is doing a "Days of Future Past (Civil War Edition)," huh? Could be interesting.

I can kind of see what Chaykin is going for with Marvel characters infecting the Squadron Supremeverse, but it's too much.

Matt Fraction's Thor one-shots have been awesome, but a full-on Odin/Thor slugfest? Dang.

AGE OF THE SENTRY looks adorably Silver Age-y.

The solicit for WOLVERINE AND POWER PACK is a little too cute for its own good.

Finally, the only good "Counter X" relaunch gets traded.

A reprint of a PUNISHER WAR ZONE storyline featuring a guest star from THE 'NAM? That's kind of random.

So does "War Machine: Weapon of S.H.I.E.L.D. #35" and next month's (according to the solicit) "War Machine #1" mean that this Iron Man series is going bye-bye?

I really hope not. It's been consistently high quality, and I haven't been impressed as much with the new Invincible Iron Man series.

Well for me this is a definite pass. i read the original special and it was a waste of money. This seems to be a type of sequel to that,

I'm also sorry to see Iron Man:Director of SHIELD go. Invincible Iron Man hasn't been nearly as good.

And I'll get over it soon but damn, Supreme Power is dead to me. Ooofah!

CAPTAIN AMERICA #44 - does anyone really think a guy brainwashed and used for decades as an assasin is going to be Captain America long term? C'mon.
DAREDEVIL & CAPTAIN AMERICA: DEAD ON ARRIVAL - That's a nice team up!

- Blue marvel seems pretty interesting
- A Daredevil/Cap story? Alright.
- Is that Hulk #8 solicit correct? The cover implies a much better story.
- Wolverine is going to have a kick ass month, if only because of Shang-chi

Fred Van Lente writes the Young Gods? Sign me up.

The Ms. Marvel "Marvel Pirates" one-shot looks like fun.
Agreed on both.

The solicit for WOLVERINE AND POWER PACK is a little too cute for its own good.
Hell, I thought they made a mistake when they said two First Class books. Wolverine is more awesomely ridiculous than ever.

Finally, the only good "Counter X" relaunch gets traded.

A reprint of a PUNISHER WAR ZONE storyline featuring a guest star from THE 'NAM? That's kind of random.
In My Cup o' Joe people are always asking about these obvious classics or fan favorites, and he's like "yeah don't see it happening." He should tell people that their favorite runs are sitting behind PUNISHER WAR ZONE issues #26-30.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I'm not sure how I missed that bit of news.

That saddens me. I like Matt Fraction, but I'm not liking the movie-influenced Invincible Iron Man (even though I loved the movie) nearly as much as I was loving the Director of SHIELD series. :frown:

Some good, good stuff this month, color me excited:

Blue Marvel sounds curious and cool, not 100% sold on Greivox's writing based on New Warriors, but a large part of that is that there's too many characters and none of them really have developed a solid 'voice'. I like the overall plot though. I think with the focus on one character might help the situation.

The Thunderbolts cover is jaw-dropping.

Cannot wait for the wrap-up of Secret Invasion, every main tie-in sounds really strong.

I thought Ultimatum was originally announced to be in 2 issues of Ult. FF and 2 of ult. X-men? Regardless, with Loeb at the helm i wouldn't read it with your eyes, and just hope it doesn't mess up Ult. Spidey too much.

The solicitation for Hulk #8 reads like they actually DON'T want people to read the book. ...and they ACTUALLY called the Red Hulk RULK in official solicitation copy???

Might have to pick up those Marcus Martin issues of ASM ~ i'm not really down with BND at all, but Martin's art is freakin' amazing.

The original plan was 3 issues of UFF and 3 issues of UXM.

That would have brought Ultimate X-Men to Issue #100 for it's rumored cancellation.

Along the lines the plans changed and it became a seperate mini-series.

Mostly because people really liked the new writer Aron Coliete on UXM, and this way he could continue his run for a few more issues. Effectively turning UFF and UXM into tie-in books.

Could this mean the skrulls do win?

I think they'll stay around at the end of the event as a potential threat but not completely take over Earth. Its too radical a change to institute a Skrull occupation for an entire year or 2 years on all of 616 especially on the X-titles. Its just not the same thing as the Registration Act.

True, but couldn't the Blue Marvel stuff take place before Secret Invasion? Or out of continuity?

Besides who knows maybe Skrullow Jacket will stick around. All Reed Richards needs to do is hypnotize it.

Yeah. It was announced at Comic-Con. It's a stealth launch, like INCREDIBLE HULK turning into INCREDIBLE HERCULES.

They're restarting the numbering after this issue, it'll be War Machine #1 and with a new creative team than who is writing the War Machine arc at the end of the Iron Man book.

CAPTAIN AMERICA #44 - does anyone really think a guy brainwashed and used for decades as an assasin is going to be Captain America long term? C'mon.

Why would that lead you to believe he won't be?

It is possible that your first or final explanation are correct, but multiple interviews and the San Diego Comicon announcement say that it is definitely in continuity.

What are your thoughts on the new team (Diggle, De La Torre) for Thunderbolts? I was thinkin about ordering a subscription of that book (I have to preorder my comics).

I'm kind of glad that they are ending Mighty Avengers, I just hope it means that there will only be one Avengers book instead of two because I kind of want to read one of those titles. Earlier it seemed like if ya read one, you had to read the other.
