Dirty Deeds!
"Dirty Deeds" is a series of threads where a discussion can be held about the morally questionable, or outright evil acts of characters in comics. It might be a discussion about times a hero crossed a moral line they shouldn't have, or a discussion of a villain's most horrific acts in their history, but the premise remains the same.
Where possible, a poll will be included to vote upon said character's "dirtiest deed".
Please do remember that there are no wrong answers, this is all a matter of opinion. Since everyone has a different set of morals, please try and respect differences in people's own beliefs.

For our fourteenth profile, I’m going with a former X-Man who kept bouncing back and forth from hero to villain, but always had a mean streak a mile long. A woman so tough she didn’t even stay dead after having her own beating heart ripped out! If you couldn’t guess, this edition of Dirty Deeds is with...

Marrow!!!
So what is Marrow's Dirtiest Deed?
- Killing other Morlocks on “The Hill” to advance in its hierarchy and move up to the haven at the top of that alternate dimension to become one of Mikhail Rasputin’s elite, in Gene Nation? (revealed in Storm (vol. 1) #2)
- Murdering a homeless drug addict upon her return ot the Morlock tunnels? (X-Men: Prime #1)
- Massacring a whole nightclub full of humans as part of the misguided revenge of Gene Nation, against those they deemed responsible for the Morlock Massacre? (Uncanny X-Men #322)*
- Kidnapping Leech with Hemingway? (Generation X #5)
- Capturing and torturing Emma Frost while using Leech to prevent her from using her psionic powers? (Generation X #6)*
- With the rest of Gene Nation, attempting to slaughter a whole subway car full of humans by wiring them with explosives, and having the detonator wired to her own heart so that Storm would have to rip her heart out to save them, or let them die. (Uncanny X-Men #325)*
- Working with Callisto to try to detonate a bomb in the middle of a Lila Cheney concert? (Cable (vol. 2) #42)*
- Trying to murder Henry Peter Gyrich and attacking two NYPD officers? (Uncanny X-Men #346)
- Displaying gluttonous behavior at breakfast with the X-Men, and then yelling at Cannonball for trying to teach her some table manners? (X-Men (vol. 2) #71)
- After Wolverine defeated Marrow in a sparring match with Marrow, stabbing him in the throat when he offered his hand to her as a handshake? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #72)*
- Stealing Cecilia Reyes’ medical journals and supplies? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #73)
- Praying to a false idol, in the form of a doll of Warren Worthington she made? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #74)
- Exposing her bare breasts to Cannonball? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #76)
- Attacking innocent people she deemed “beautiful” when upset that Cannonball was going back to his family in Kentucky. ( X-Men (vol. 2) #79)*
- Stealing Colossus’ sketchbook? (Uncanny X-Men #361)
- Throwing a dead rat under Kitty Pryde’s pillow? (X-Men Unlimited (vol. 1) #22)
- Assassinating D’Gard to join Weapon X and get a remedy for her appearance? - (Weapon X- The Draft: Marrow)
- Having a one night stand with Mesmero? (Weapon X- The Draft: Marrow)
- Using her powers to create a blowgun and kill a South American leader? (Weapon X (vol. 2) #2)
- Turning a blind eye to human rights violations being performed by the Weapon X Program during her time as a member? (Weapon X (vol. 2) #1-13)*
- Committing several terrorist attacks, (albeit many against Weapon X facilities) including detonating a bomb in Grand Central Station, as the leader of Gene Nation? (Weapon X (vol. 2) #19-21)*
-Stabbing Siryn (later revealed to have been pregnant at the time) in the shoulder while she tried to reason with her, during her time as a member of X-Cell? (X-Factor (vol. 3) #18-19)*
There you have it, the most morally egregious moments from the bona fide bone-wielder herself. Now vote for you think is the worst of Marrow’s Dirty Deeds!

That, and showing Cannonball her breasts are my favorite two on this list. They're not the worst, by far, but they are the most hilarious for me.

Marrow was such a mess! Her attitude was worse than Feral's!
I did love that time she stabbed Wolverine in the throat, tho. That was classic 'wtf where are your pills?' moment.
Marrow is the scary kind of love that must be kept at arms distance.

I would say Marrow is better than Feral, since she was trying to get better as an X-Man. After the six month gap... they kept her as an anti-hero, until Frank Tieri got a hold of her, and made her effectively sell her soul for a prettier face.

Did they ever explain why/how she went from all smooth-skinned and pretty in Weapon X to bony and sharp again towards the end of that run? I have a slight gap in my memory there.

They don't specifically say, but she shows up in Weapon X (vol. 2) #19 with the bones back, and its implied that somehow Weapon X reversed the process from a distance, or the treatments needed to be ongoing to continue to keep her good looks.
But again, it's left pretty vague.

HAHAHAHAHA MARROW. i forgot what an absolute piece of $#!+ she was!
she's seriously the x-men's biggest bitch ever. she reminds me of a rabid dog that runs around stealing steaks off of the kitchen table and then peeing on anyone that tries to take it back.
she stole so many things from the other x-men! cecelia reye's medical notes? colossus's sketch book... what a bitch! haha i just picture her running around in shadows, and like hiding in a room crying as cecelia or storm are brushing their hair in the mirror singing "i feel pretty", cutting herself with a sharp bone and then stealing their brush and breaking the mirror once they exit the room, then running back to her basement screaming "SUCK IT, X-BITCH!"

After spending her first few years of life living in a sewer, then moving to "The Hill", getting her powers and literally being thrown to a toxic wasteland, with her only hope for survival being to kill her way back to the top... I think Marrow's reasons for turning evil over being gone a decade are there.
And yet... she was trying to redeem herself. And that's what you're forgetting. Are the deeds listed here dirty? Oh hell yeah. But in Marrow, there was the same kind of second chance the X-Men had given people like Wolverine, or Rogue. They tried to teach her a different way, and it was working...
Until some mysterious event made her leave during the six month gap. One that's never been explained. So, hate her if you want, but to me, she was a deranged child who was finally realizing that life wasn't one cruel mishap after another.

I'd stfu too if Storm ripped out my still-beating heart with her bare hands. I don't blame Marrow for briefly turning a new leaf.

Her first dirty deed in SF could be a bloodfest with the Sisterhood.

Marrow hates Thornn for warning Cable and Storm that she and Callisto were going to bomb that Lila Cheney concert. Their mutual hate for Lucia might help her and Maria to get along famously.
Until they inevitably would try to stab each other, of course. And Marrow would sucker-punch her like she did Wolverine and win.

It'd be great while it lasted though... they could search for bohunks together and paint the town red with the blood of their teammates. It'd be like Thelma and Louise with fleas.

What's the part about torturing Emma that gets me? Not actually torturing Emma. Forcing Leech to remain to help it happen, while also forcing him to watch, and know he's responsible.
That would normally screw up a kid. Of course, Artie and Leech once saw demons kidnapping babies during Inferno, so he might've already been jaded.

Let's not get carried away with this one here.....I mean. Emma's the one who kicked Leech in the head with her stiletto pumps. That's a dirty deed for the books.

Emma already was raked over the coals for that, and her long list of other dirty deeds, agreed.
But Marrow did kinda force her hand. It's not her fault Emma kind of enjoyed it.

no, i don't hate marrow at all, she was so entertaining and unpredictable and just did the wildest bitchiest things while on the x-men, and didn't even realize she was bitchy. she was just rabid, you never knew if she was gonna kiss you or pee on your carpet. i liked that she liked allll the guys on the x-men because she didn't understand what love was.

Marrow hates Thornn for warning Cable and Storm that she and Callisto were going to bomb that Lila Cheney concert.
Oh you dissapoint me worstblogger, i thought you where good at gaining your infos, it was never shown how Marrow reacted to Thornn helping Cable.
Infact they never met again on pannel in all the years since then (another reason why i think X-Cell should have had more members).
Also Marrow would easily forgive her, after all it was Thornn who tried to save Sarah from the flood and tried to persuade her from not going back to the Hill.
I think its rather possible that Marrow would dislike Feral (for example if its revealed that Feral used to scare Sarah for fun).
Killing other Morlocks on “The Hill” to advance in its hierarchy and move up to the haven at the top of that alternate dimension to become one of Mikhail Rasputin’s elite, in Gene Nation? (revealed in Storm (vol. 1) #2)
Well it was either this or stay behind and breed children who would try to go climp up the Hill. Thats the problem with a darwinian survival scenarios. Also being a child and not having weather powers didn't gave her the same chances Storm had (who simply flew up, to the top and confronted Mikhail with what's right and whats wrong).
Capturing and torturing Emma Frost while using Leech to prevent her from using her psionic powers? (Generation X #6)*.
She never tortured Emma, she just tried to humilate her by painting red paint on Emma's face so that she looks like some cheap clown and made some death treats to her, while waiting for Dark Beast to show up.
But you are right in that Emma didn't kicked Leech for fun, after all it was her only option left, nobody belived she would do that.
Working with Callisto to try to detonate a bomb in the middle of a Lila Cheney concert? (Cable (vol. 2) #42)*
There are some people on this forum, who would not see killing Lila Cheney as a crime, the colleteral damage on the other hand would be one, thats true.
Worse. She stabbed Siryn while she was in the early stages of her current pregnancy.
Yeah but consider the two following points.
1. Nobody knew Siryn was pregnant except Terry herself. Hell even Layla didn't knew it and she knows stuff.
2. Marrow only aimed for the shoulder, which actualy shows that the time with the X-men must have effected her personality, since the old version would have aimed for vital body parts (which is actualy her main combat strategy: "Aim for where its kills them the most!").
Trying to murder Henry Peter Gyrich and attacking two NYPD officers? (Uncanny X-Men #346)
The first is understable since there are even some heros in the Marvel universe who must resist the urge to turn his around.
To the second, hey she didn't killed those two, she only knocked them out. Thats actualy more of an improvement than a real dirty deed (also it was during OZT which means they could have also been Prime Sentinels like many other officers in that department).
Stealing Cecilia Reyes’ medical journals and supplies? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #73)
She did this in order to help Callisto and since being unable to interact with the world normaly, simply took the nearest medical supplies which was Cecilia stuff. Yet its still a dirty deed thats true. She could have also broke into a drugstore during the night.
Exposing her bare breasts to Cannonball? ( X-Men (vol. 2) #76)
Still laughing about that one nowdays.
In the end and with the rest of the list, i guess it gives a bit of a reason why no writer wants to bring her back in a heroic way (or at all). I mean who wants a sociopath as an X-men or hero?
By the way i blame some of the later writers for overly hanging around her beauty problems (which in theory should be only a very minor part of her problems) instead of developing her confronation with her criminal past (which sadly never happend). Which is the reason she appeared to be emo, in the past.
Another note, the rat was not put under Kittys pillow but, thrown next to her head.
In the end i still hope that her Weapon X connection will be revealed to be brainwashing and the whole beauty thing just something to make her belive she joined on her own will.
Ah, damm who am i fooling she won't come back, or at least it looks very bleak for it to happen in the next few years.

Really, I don't vote for her time on "The Hill" because she really wasn't given much choice. It was kill or be killed. And that kind of thing really screwed a young Sarah up.
She never tortured Emma, she just tried to humilate her by painting red paint on Emma's face so that she looks like some cheap clown and made some death treats to her, while waiting for Dark Beast to show up.
That was a form of psychological torture, at least. But there were implications some of it was physical.
