I voted for Dark Phoenix. but if there was an other, I would have voted for Mutant Massacre. The Marauders versus the X-men in the Tunnels for the fate of the Morlocks and some of the students! Colossus versus Riptide. Wolvie vs. Sabes. Jean vs. Prism. Cyke vs. Scalphunter. Nightcrawler vs. Vertigo. I'd be in fanboy heaven :D

While I wouldn't include Juggernaut, the third should have all three things going on.

Since this is the 3rd and last film for possibly all the actors involved, you have to have some closure to the things introduced and developed in X-Men and X-2. Both being the Phoenix and the newly formed Brotherhood.

With the Brotherhood I see Magneto, Mystique, Pyro definitely in. I want Sabertooth to come back and talk more. There's definitely a history between him and Wolverine hinted at in the first movie and I'd like for them to get into a really awesome battle and see Sabertooth taunt Wolverine about Weapon X and clues to his past since he seemed to know a bit just from him taking his dog-tag. But that may very well be cut and left to a solo Wolverine movie.

I'd also like to see Toad back, I don't think he died...you can't really tell. I'd like to see possibly two more Brotherhood members like Avalanche and Blob so that it perfectly resembles the comic version while also providing a VERY formidable team for the X-Men to battle. But....the cast is incredibly big so far after X2 so it's possible they'll just include Avalanche since Blob seems like a major special effect.

The Sentinels, EVERYONE want's. They were almost included in X2 and their prototypes didn't look too bad. I would personally include that since it's the final stage in the human aspect after Stryker. It's possible the scriptwriter/director may think that they dealt with the human issues with Senator Kelly and William Stryker in both movies but there definitely are more ways to include them.

One I could see is the Brotherhood taking a brute force initiative as Magneto(similar to the way he's been portrayed in the Ultimate X-Men titles) is no longer playing any games. This is a perfect lead in for the gov't to start Sentinel program to take them out since the X-Men aren't exactly government sanctioned.

Both teams would clash and have some really awesome battles but eventually they'll both have to take on the Sentinels. At the end of the movie, the Brotherhood will have to be taken apart like Magneto thought dead. Imagine seeing a cracked helmet and tattered cape on the ground as an end visual. He doesn't have to be dead but it would be alluded to for his return someday.

Mystique captured or hitchhiking her way back to the unknown, Pyro would either be fried by a Sentinel or he would run away at the site of one. Things like that.

The Phoenix is the trickiest thing to incorporate and it also has to be dealt with. They can either make Jean as a good Phoenix force or as the Dark one. I'm not even sure which one of those I want since Dark Phoenix while AWESOME is something a bit too big for a movie with the Brotherhood and Sentinels already happening at the same time.

Since the Phoenix is an ongoing thing with X-Men lore, I'd probably deal with the dark aspects with subtle hints along the way and leave it for another sequel and just have Jean really powerful. The X-Men could take out a few Sentinels then there will be a part where there are more Sentinels than they can handle(think like 50 of them), and Jean would take most of them out with the Phoenix Force.

The cast is pretty damn big right now, Halle Berry likey won't return as Storm and Lauren Schuler Donner is vying to get Gambit and Beast in so I'd like to see them in there. Good luck to the director on this one as this will be a major problem to give all the actors good screentime and make it good where it counts. I figure if Jim Cameron can do it pretty well in Aliens and Steven Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan then they can do it here.

Also have Cyclops receive better character development and leadership skills.

There's also one sequence I want to see, which is the Danger Room. The thing was contructed, storyboarded and Hugh Jackman was ready to go but it was cut. I really want to see this thing go through in the third.

The other bigger hurdle for the film is the budget for all this stuff. But I figure since the first two films were pretty successful and this is the last with the remaining actors, to hell with it...end with a bang. Eventually, if done right the films will be the better for it and it will round out a trilogy perfectly.

They'll also reap the benefits of trilogy DVD sets.

There is an answer to the fanboy's wet dream. Genosha. Have the movie be on Genosha.

Have the X-men and Brotherhood investigating the island. Sentinels being made on the island. Mr. Sinister posing as a scientist on the island, having found Jean Grey and reviving her on Genosha. With some hints about Appocalypse and a weapon against him for the fanboy in all of us. As well as Gambit being forced to work for Sinister.

And for the trademark Wolverine fight, throw in Deadpool, a mercenary hired by the Genoshans after hearing about the Wolverine killing one of his creators, Stryker. Other Weapon X scientists working for them now.


I'd love to see the movie open up on night at Xaviers, but here comes the Juggernaut. Juggernaut vs Colossus Also toss in the Danger Room, a fight between Cyclops and Wolverine maybe.

New X-men including Beast and Angel. Hank comes to the school to fill the teaching position lost by the death of Jean Grey. Warren is a rich playboy whos been forced out as a mutant by the paparrazi, a former Xaviers student and financial backer. His public announcement to go to Genosha brings the X-men into the Genosha issue. Maybe have Beast and Warren get captured and end up in some lab where Sinister is toying with them, and forces Beast's mutation to go further, turning him into the blue furball, maybe not at first, have him change slowly during the course of the film. Warren could either just loose his wings or Sinister could turn him into Archangel, and maybe have him as Archangel be declared a failed experiment and send him off to be terminated only for a big shadowy figure offer to save him.

New Brotherhood members, of course Pyro. Along with maybe Blob and Avalanche. Return of Toad.

I'd like to see an Iceman vs Pyro battle.


And genosha would be mutant cameos galore. Maybe have some Hellfire Club Cameos as well, with the Club in talks with the Genoshans to open a branch there.


But it propably wouldn't be anything like that if they did Genosha.

I think using the Sentinels would be a nice next step from the second film.

I'm not sold on the idea of a (Dark) Phoenix storyline for the X-men. I think there's no way it would measure up, and I think it would need to be in the 4th film anyway, with hints and clues dropped in the third to make it really good.

My second choice would be the Brotherhood. With Magneto, Mystique, Pyro, and some others (Blob, Destiny, Avalanche, Toad, Sabretooth, whatever). That storyline would be another logical next step for the franchise.

Hellfire Club's a good idea as well. Proteus maybe. Something involving Genoshan magistrates would be good. Or, of course THE BROOD!

It'd be dark and violent, but then again the Wolvie/Deathstrike fight in X2 really pushed it, so a director could get away with it. Thing is, it's too early. For it to have real impact, we'd need another movie or two to really get to know and love these characters. THEN it's time to start killin' 'em off :eek:

I think the Phoenix thing'd be better split into two movies.

X3: Sentinels and Wideawake, with Shaw and Co. pulling the strings to some extent behind the scenes. Introduce the Morlocks, but only as an aside. Towards the middle or end, Jean gets found. She returns to the team...changed. Have her in full bloom for the climax.

X4: Dark Phoenix. That's a movie unto itself. I'd LOVE to see the Shi'ar done, and at this point, the audience would care enough about the characters to really get hit with the X-Men/Guardian battle at the climax. You really could do this feasibly in a movie.

X5: From the Ashes. Mutant massacre, arrival of Psylocke. Splitting of the team. Relocation to the Outback. Heck, even the Reavers. Make this the Empire Strikes Back of the series, ending with the Siege Perilous (though come up with a different origin. Budget would be much cheaper than the Phoenix stuff, that's for sure :)

X6: With the seeming death of the X-Men, Chuck starts the New Mutants. Perhaps comes out to the media, as in the Morrison run.

2) Project Wideawake (with connections to the main villians...)
3) 1 major battle with The HFC (only)

Don't forget about Colossus and Storm..

The X-Men/Sentinel story should'nt be as advanced as the comics...

Well I think that X-men is more like 007 then Police Academy and it could on for a very long time (Mission to Moscow- Omega Red BABY yeah). Its not going to be hard to lock down Hugh Jackman, and Patrict Stewert considering both of their other franchises are dead (Van Hellsing and Star Trek). With the new Woverine film heres how the franchises should split.

Wolverine 1.- takes place in Canada features the return of an intelectual (and recast) Sabertooth, Have Wolverine finally come upon Department K only to have to battle a merc for hire in Deadpool a bodyguard in Maverick and finally a battle against Sabertooth.

X-men 3- Phoenix returns but we wait on the Dark Phoenix saga, give us a little bit of the Hellfire Club and Magentos death but mostly give us Mastermold, Sentinals, and Cameron Hodge. Establish a new team with 4 new members Beast, Angel, Gambit and Collosus so we have a full team of Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, Beast, Angel, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Rogue, Gambit and Collosus. Let this be the movie where we get Iceman in full Ice and Angel in Archangel powers. Let this be the film where Magneto Dies (they won't be able to keep Mckellen he'll leave or die soon:( )

Wolverine 2- break off the Hellfire club with Donald Pierce and give us the Reavers and Jubilee

I can just imagine a huge fight between the X-Men and like 100 Sentinals, and you just see all sorts of shots throughout the movie where they are flying in swarms looking for mutants. Or what would be even better would be having the X-Men and Brotherhood teaming up to fight them, but like halfway into the fight the Brotherhood turn on the X-Men and it just turns into a crazy three way fight. Awesome.

I think that, realistically, there will be a beast in the third movie. He was wanted on the second, and even hinted at when he didn't come about. And the idea that he replaces Jean as the doc at the mansion is a good excuse.

I would *love* to see gambit in the movie, and Singer didn't want a character who was so similar to Wolverine in feel, but we won't have to worry about that anymore, will we? He certainly wouldn't cost as much as the other options (beast, angel, blob etc)

Danger Room, Sentinels are a given, i think, seeing as the work was done on them already and everyone, *everyone* wants to see them both.

Phoenix i agree could be good or bad. If there's a 4th film, make that the Dark Phoenix stunner, if not (and i would lean toward them stopping at 3 and going out with a bang) then try to tie it in in the third.

I wasn't so sure about Joss Whendon doing the movie, but after seeing the beginning of his run on Astonishing, i think he might be able to do it. Also, I read that he wrote one line in the first movie and when I heard it was the "you're a dick" line, my faith in him rose a notch. Can't imagine a whole film with that attitude but ... as long as he doesn't make it too flippant (Buffy) i think it might roll.

Now that would be good. When ever I watch the X-men: Evolution cartoon, the sentinel in that is what I would hope the one in the movie would be like, actually a threat, the X-men in the comics seem to take them down so easily nowadays.

But and many people have said Iceman & Pyro fight would be excellent as well, I'd like also maybe to see Toad back in Magneto's brotherhood, in the comics he has always stood by his side so he should again.

I'm actually not fussed on the HellFire Club being in the movie. I'd rather see Sentinels like most people here.

As people have said I hope that the X-men movies could go the same way as the 007 movies, I wouldn't care at all if they changed the actors every few movies (depending on how many they make) as long as the stories and characters we want to see are featured.

Somehow, if this is going to be the last one, they need to incorporate the Hellfire Club. Possibly with Magneto joining up as the White King. Unbeknownst to the rest of the members Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost had been developing mutant-hunting Sentinels for Stryker. Of course these Sentinels wouldn't recognize either Shaw or Frost as mutants.

While Magneto attends to the Lords Cardinal's goals he has Mystique and the rest of the Brotherhood conspiring against the X-Men...or maybe retreiving Jean's body, and bringing it back to the mansion.

The X-Men learn of this and infiltrate the Hellfire Club (during a part of course, attended by Warren Worthington) including the famous scene of Logan gutting the goons. During all of this Jean's body is in a coccoon hidden away in the Club. During the X-Men's battle with the Club Shaw could call in his Sentinels. The X-Men battle the Sentinels. Magneto and the Brotherhood realizing Shaw's betrayal also battle the Sentinels. But some of the Brotherhood go to steal Jean's body, but are followed by some of the X-Men. The Brotherhood and Magneto escape with Jean's body onto a plane. The X-Men and some Sentinels give chase. The X-Men destroy all but one sentinel. That sentinel takes down the Brotherhood's craft and it lands, of course, in Jamaica Bay. The last sentinel turns to face the X-Men's aircraft. But a surge of energy pulses from the Bay incinerating the Sentinel. And the Phoenix has risen.

Cue for X-Men 4...

Hellfire Club, gotta have that scene with Logan getting blasted into the sewer. Of course, Jean will be safely tucked away in her egg, having been found by Emma when she senses a psionic ripple that seemed to be growing exponentally. Halfway through the movie, Jean hatches and both Emma and Prof X pass out from the strain being put on their brains. Both Scott and Logan instantly realize what happened and go searching for Jean, who isn't hard to find since she'll be fighting off the Hellfire Club after Mastermind's first attempt to control her. Note: lots of property damage when Jean faces off against Shaw.

I'd love to see the Hellfire Club, but since the movie continuity's version of Mastermind has already died, it would be better to see them in relation to the Sentinels rather than the Dark Phoenix. I think a good lineup for a movie Inner Circle would be:

Sebastian Shaw (Black King)
Magneto (White King)
Emma Frost (White Queen)
Mystique (Black Queen)
Harry Leland (White Bishop)
Pyro (Black Bishop)

Have the story deal with the overthrow of the non-mutant members of the Inner Circle, and their replacement with Magneto's gang. Magneto then creates a device which would give him total control over the Sentinels, which he then uses to terrorize the human population and the X-Men. The X-Men have to fight there way through Sentinels, Hellfire Club goons, and finally the Inner Circle themselves in order to stop Magneto and deactivate the Sentinels. I can just imagine how the Inner Circle would get along:

I hope there's a part 4 because Dark Phoenix is best brought in after another adventure and its gotsta be the Hellfire Club! Make Emma Frost a little sympathetic to the XMen and maybe even somehow helping out in the end. Cyclops hooks up with Emma in the beginning of part 4, Phoenix comes back as well, and it brings you a movie-world version of Endsong. YeS!

I think in the effects department it would have to be a choice between the Danger Room or Sentinels, and I think they would choose to feature the Danger Room....so that's why I didn't choose my favorite mutant hunters.

I voted for a new Brotherhood. However, it will most likely be the original with a few more new members.

In the movie after this one, I would have Mr. Sinister and Dark Phoenix as the threats. It makes plenty o sense and would be great to see it on film, with a very, very interesting and complex story to boot. The only thing is that Gary Oldman would have to play Essex, and they have to give him the super-cool voice he had in the cartoon!!!!!!!

By the looks of it, I'm one of the few people who doesn't want to see the Sentinels in an X-Men movie. For me, giant robots do not a good story make.

I'd have X3 be a struggle between the Hellfire Club & the Morlocks with the X-Men caught in the middle (Morlocks could be street-level criminals, a gang fighting for survival; and the Hellfire Club trying to eliminate the lower mutants who threaten their power). Would be an excellent opportunity to introduce a load of new mutants & end with the X-Men forging bonds with the Morlocks, just in time for...

X4: The Mutant Massacre.

The problem is you need to maintain the aspect of the X-Men protecting those who fear and hate them. If you remove that it's not an X-Men story. There has to be a human angle to it.

I voted Dark Phoenix, but I almost think it would be good to have Jean be just 'Phoenix' for a movie, and then have her go 'Dark' in the fourth.

From what I know Dark Phoenix is 100% confirmed and will be in it. Now I have also heard that Sentineils will almost positivly be in the movie (They were in sketchs for the next movie in the X2 DVD). And it isn't confirmed but probable that a New Brotherhood will be in it. I think it's Magneto, Mystique, Pyro, Sabretooth, Toad, and Juggernaut most likely unless he is a villian without the brotherhood but it would be pointless to have Pyro join the Brotherhood and build up the Iceman/Pyro Tension here and not have it carried out next time. I think it is all laying out vwey nicely and it will be an extra long movie I'd bet. Can't wait for it!

I personally don't find this to be very exciting.
I never actually read any of the phoenix story, never even seen an issue with phoenix in it (somehow) so I feel indifferent to her really.
The sentinel I think would be boring. I don't find them very iteresting.

I don't want to see magneto in a major role again. It would be cool I guess depending on how they did it, what the story was, but He was a major player in the first 2, Im bored of him now. Mystique is cool and I could see more of her.
I'm already bored of Pyro. He just doesnt do it for me.

Sabertooth and Juggernaut.....NOW WE'RE TALKING. I could definately dig a movie with these too in it. I thought Sabertooth didn't get enough attention in the first movie. They need to show more of him, mabe a little side story with him and wolverine would be cool although, as someone mentioned, perhaps that would be saved for a wolverine spin off.

Anyways, It would be cool to see Sinister.
i'd really like to see Apocalypse too. I think it would be cool if they did an AOA movie/series of movies, but that might be too much to hope for.

The only villains that have really good mainstream appeal is the hellfire club. They're very sexy and mainstream america digs that. Have Donald Peirce help fund the sentinels and we'd be rocking.

I think that it is very likely to have the Dark Phoenix has the main bad guy, based on rumors I've heard, and the end of X2, with the Pheinix in the water. I think that this will be very tricky to pull off, and still have it be as succesful as the other two. How entertaining is it to have Jean fly-off into space and eat planets for 2 1/2 hours? Then she comes back to Earth and curbstomps the X-Men into the ground. Also, introducing the Shi'arr might not be such a great idea. For us comic book geeks, it'd be awesome to see the X-Men duking it out wiht the Imperial Guard on the moon, but this might not be so great for the general public. They don't want to see a hundred new mutants introduced, and they don't want the X-Men flying off to the moon. The last two movies were much more realistic than that. The last 2 movies have been completely earth-bound, with good mutis vs. bad muties, and the human hatred of them. The dark phoenix angle would be pretty hard ot work into the essential human hatred part of the plot.

Not really. BEcause thats a pretty goofy explanation and doesnt jive so much with the phoenix mythos considering there was a character in excalibur who was supposed to house the phoenix or something.

Now continuty means nothing in the movies so you avoid that pitfall, but there is no logical step between being a mind person and envoking a space god fire parrot.

Chances are it will be the hellfire club as they are looking at that one english soccor hooligan actor guy (shaw maybe?) from those guy richie movies

The movie-going public could care less about the mythos, Excalibur, or that the comic version of the Phoenix is a celestial being. I certainly hope they don't go that way in the film. But if the fiery bird is simply the representation of Jean's evolved psionic abilities then I think audiences would be able to follow it fine.

I prefer if the movies stuck to the mutant vs human and tolerance themes. So Sentinels seem like the logical conclusion. It's starting to feel like that might not happen. My biggest fear the next movie is just going to feel like a retread of the first two.
