I want to create a comprehensive list of all casualties suffered during Secret Invasion. I haven't been reading all the tie-ins. But so far, I believe the only confirmed deaths are:
Proton
Snowbird
I was hoping you all could help me with any deaths I missed and to keep this thread going as more deaths occur. Thanks.

Was Snowbird actually confirmed as dead? I thought she was abandoned in the Dreaming, after she went berserk. I will have to go back and re read it, but I was sure they even mentioned that she could be brought back.
Anyway, we can possibly add Elektra as well a Dum Dum Dugan. I think it was pretty clearly shown that they were killed in action.
Jury is still out on Hank Pym. He was beat down by a she-male Skrull with Hulk hands.
Jessica Drew, was captured while anesthitized on an operating table, not sure what her status is either.

I think with such few hero deaths, a skrull death toll would be more challenging.

That would be very interesting and besides one can wiki to get the deaths anyway.

He died in Secret Invasion #3. Pretty much died as soon as he came.

Has there been a "major" confirmed death yet? Seems like they've deliberately side-stepped that question for now. IIRC isn't there supposed to be a future issue where all will be explained about what happened to all the replaced people?

That's what I've heard. Which gives me no hope for the last bastion of intelligence the Skrulls may have had. If the Skrulls were smart, the "future issue" would be one page, and all it would have on it was the words, "WE KILLED UM DEAD".

Y'know, I just read the 2 AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE hardcovers this weekend. You'd think I would have remembered that he took on that name.....
Poor Geldoff. Slott bothers to create a 616 version of you, and then your Ultimate creator kills you as quickly as he can...

I was under the impression that MIGHTY AVENGERS was slowly explaining (a) how/when the Skrulls took certain people's places, and (b) what happened to the originals. Other books too will do this too; SI: INHUMANS explained that Black Bolt is being honed by the Skrulls to be a super sonic weapon

I'm waiting for them to show where the originals have been all this time. As far as I know, SI: Inhumans has been the only one to actually show where one of the replaced characters has been since the switch out.

I think his death was the sole purpose of him being in 616.

This may sound like a stupid question but what happened to the Vision that was on the streets when the skrulls attacked? I know he came off the ship in the first issue but was he a skrull or was it the real vision? Because that Vision was later killed when his head was blown up?

Yes. Slott said Bendis told him he was going to kill the Initiative in SI, so he graduated his first batch of recruits and brought in the new ones for the slaughter. Particularly Geldof, just to force Bendis to kill his own crappy creation.

Not sure what happened to Savage Land Vision, but the one in Times Square was Vision from Young Avengers. He was shown in SI #5 to be damaged but still alive and functioning. YA Vision is the Iron-Lad armor uploaded with Vision's programing.

Still haven't seen Echo after that Neck cracking incident.
She was in four pages of SI #5. She even had a line.
She's the one hiding behind Iron Fist whenever we see Danny.

I still dont think Elektra is dead
I refuse to believe that she is truly dead even if a skrull with collosus arm beat her down.
I mean she could have done one of those uber ninja techniques she used when Frank miller wrote her to survive the assault.

....so folks like Batwing and Annex are gonna be a goner (unless they're dead already - haven't read past #13 yet)? Dang.

These are the ones Im most worried about! If Elektra is dead then I will be soo pissed off! It would mean she was killed off, just so they could have a character to kill off and get this whole SI thing started! Her role could have been taken by anybody! And Kirby is too cute to kill off!
Spider Woman is definitely still alive though.

No, they are still alive. Not sure how much Slott and Bendis were joking with their comments. It's possible they both set up the Geldof thing as nod to fans who hated Bendis' Ultimate creation. However, I don't think Slott has anything invested in the most recent crop. His best issue with them focused on Butterball--an original creation--so loosing them wouldn't really hurt the book.

I guess thats why i started this thread. I read several articles in which Bendis indicated he had a whole list of characters that were disposable. However, for all his talk, we are 5 issues into Secret Invasion (with probably more then 20 tie ins) and we have not seen many deaths at all. My count is:
Confirmed Dead
Geldoff (Proton)
John the Skrull
Unconfirmed Dead
Snowbird
Thought Dead but Apparently Alive
Echo
Vision
Please feel free to add to this in the liklihood that I missed some (I have not been reading all the tie-ins). I would like to update this list and keep it as accurate as possible.
