Can anyone think of a graphic novel that has something to do with WWII? It has to be American (author/context) and say something about, respond to, the war.

This is for my wife's mother's University English class and other than Maus I'm stumped.

I'm also posting this in the DC and indy sections so I can HOPEFULLY maximize responses.

Something by Garth Ennis, maybe? Most of his WWII work has been for DC and Vertigo, though. The only thing I can think of from Marvel is FURY: PEACEMAKER, and I haven't read it.
