Downshift Preview Thread

hey everyone, i just wanted to share some sketches that i have been working on...these are for my comic downshift, for the preview that i'm putting together for it. i'm super excited to get feedback on it, so tell me whatever you feel lol...i still have to ink/color them, so yeah-alot of work left to do...

i'll also be treating this thread as a way to show people previews of the stuff i'm working on, from pin-ups to pages, etc etc...if anyone wants to collaborate or has any questions, feel free to pm me! i need all the practice i can get lol

as i was looking through an alex ross sketchbook and around the internet, i realized i could do better work than i had...so i'm re-tooling some of these sketches...first up:

Looks pretty good so far. Nice to see you're not shying away from the technical details the way a lot of artists do when they draw cars and bikes.

What's the story gonna be about?

thank you! yeah, i believe the details make an image- i had to completely re-do the motorcycle's front brake after the initial drawing because it wasn't the right kind lol...

the story is kind of crazy actually, i'm trying to go in a direction that you wouldn't be expecting...the basic gist is that the main character, britney, is a racer on the east coast, and has to go to cali for a race...while there, she gets into a wreck and develops amnesia, which is the crux of the story; she spends the next couple of months traveling back across the country, all while finding out who she is along the way...it's more like a drama than full-on action, unlike something like the f & f...ugh lol...but there will plenty of action in it, don't worry

i dunno, i have a lot of crazy ideas for the stories, and it's def. influenced by greek tragedies, so look for some tragic plot lines lol...i actually have all the stories plotted out, and some of the things that will be in the comic include street racing, drifting, motorcycles, skateboarding, etc etc...the only downside is that since i do everything myself, it's taking FOREVER lol...but i'll be uploading a 6 page preview sometime within the next week, so be on the look out for that...laters! :biggrin:
