IGN put up a pencils only preview of Secret Invasion #6.
http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/2295/secretinvasion200808150am0.jpg
It's only one page but it'll be great to see Thor and the new Cap interact with Iron Man there, it might also be the first time Thor references Cap's death.

Looks like at least one Wonderman got out of the Savage Land.
Still no Wasp. She's a skrull

That...is absolutely glorious.
To think, Bucky coming back from the dead to become one of the biggest badasses in Marvel history, a new Captain America and now standing side by side with Thor in a planetwide invasion. Man...never saw that coming.
Sniff...he's come so far.
I..I'm so proud. :frown:

Is that a representation of the Winter Soldier behind New Cap? That would make sense, I suppose, given that there are presumably readers who don't know much about New Cap's background.

Really curious to hear what The New Avengers think of Bucky wearing the suit.
If Thor knows who Cap is, I think he'll approve. Being the type of person Thor is, I think he'll understand (probably more than anybody there) why Bucky is the right man to be honoring him fairly quickly.
There are times where I'm not sure Yu is really "big event" material but looking at the image of Thor sizing up Captain America, he certainly impresses me when I least expect it.

To me this sounds like a wasted Bucky Thor moment. it would be so bad @$$ in actual story where Thor confronts Bucky asking him who the hell he is. Another wasted story by marvel.

I think we should actually see the story before coming to the conclusion that anything is wasted.

I've been looking forward to this issue since the cover came out. Bucky and Thor... Hopefully we get to see them clean up New York together.

I really hope these two end up on the Mighty Avengers as that would really add some grandeur and legitimacy to the group that seems to have been missing. Either that or start another squad of Avengers.

The Mighty have Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Wasp and Wonderman. All classic Avengers, and two of the founding members.

Because the MA are a part of the Initiative, you likely would need to be registered in order to join the team. And I'm not sure Bucky or Thor would really be interested in doing that.
They could maybe join the NA.

It's likely it'll be covered here, but I'd rather see it in his own series, which is more emotional, better paced, and maybe even a bit more appropriate.

I'm thinking that there might just be some modifications to the SHRA after Secret Invasion, thanks to the fact that Tony's mug was just seen all over the world promoting the Skrull Empire. Just when he's close to regaining the trust of his fellow superheroes, the public will abandon him.
Thanks to that, I wouldn't be shocked if new-Cap joins up with the New Avengers and they arrange a similar deal to the one Bucky got from Tony.
The big question is what exactly is Tony's post SI status. We know some story regarding the Extremis armor is on the horizon and thats it. And also personally, I really wish Dr. Strange's status would get a shout out.

No. I see Thor seeing Winter Soldier, the multiple assassin, and staring down Cap saying, 'I'll be keeping an eye on you'. I'm more inclined to think Thor realises Tony Stark is putting WS into the Cap suit to keep him safe, and out of trouble, now that Steve has given Bucky a second chance from the wish on the cosmic cube.

Thor and Iron Man discussed the deaths of Thors friends in the 3rd or 4th issue of Thor. I took that to mean Black Goliath and Cap.
I would like it to go into more detail.

I'm betting the house, wife, kids and kitchen sink I don't have on Captain America joining the New Avengers post Secret Invasion.
Regardless of whether Tony helped him or not, Bucky's views aswell as Steve's on the SHRA were the same, thats not even taking into account that The New Avengers are pretty much Cap's team to begin with. He'll go where his heart takes him and as someone who's bound to honor a legacy, it'll lead him straight to the The New Avengers.
This version of Cap is just an all around excellent fit for what Bendis has been doing with that book. Also, lets face it, this team needs more firepower really frickin bad. I'm definitely looking for that shield gracing NA covers starting sometime next year.

Bucky hasn't killed one person since he got his memories back. More important, Thor gets even a glance at Cap's letter and he'll trust Bucky in a heartbeat.

He's a former brainwashed russian assasin, who had the brainwashing suppossedly removed by an organization corrupted by the skrulls.
The Cap letter will earn sympathy... but not necessarily trust. There are outside factors which sort of come into play here.

Thor not only fought during WWII, he fought for the Nazis against the Invaders. Ended up killing and then resurrecting Union Jack (Brian Falsworth). However, Bucky wasn't present during the Invaders battle against Thor.

The thread so far:
Thor and Captain America appear in the next issue.
Debate of whether Thor knows Bucky is resolved - yes.
Debate of whether the book will be any good. No clear definition
of good provided.
Feeling expressed that something might actually happen.
Almost universal desire that something should actually happen.
Predictions about what might happen included idea that Captain America
might try to act like Captain America, Thor might try to act unlike Thor,
and other heroes might just mill around instead of rallying.
Opinions about what might happen included idea that Captain America
shouldn't try to act like Captain America, Thor shouldn't try to act like Thor,
and other heroes shouldn't try to act heroic.
More later, after an hilarious interlude, wherein other people express opinions
about things that haven't happened and probably will not. :)

Invaders # 32-33. There's some weird points to that story. Thor gets brainwashed and mind-controlled by Nazi scientists aided by a young Victor Von Doom. Not sure how this one fits into continuity these days. It was written back in the 70's when they were still saying Reed and Ben fought in WWII. Maybe they could explain that it was still Doom via his time machine during his pre-armored 'finding himself days'.

Easy.
Onslaught / Heroes Reborn.
The story happened as it happened.
People who weren't sucked into Franklin's play universe may remember it.
Tony stark also fashioned Iron Man during Viet Nam. It's just that the post-
Heroes Reborn Stark doesn't remember it that way.
