Pick One...
What is everyones favorite post-messiah complex core x-men title? I'm not talking side books such as x-force, just the main ones.
Warren Ellis' Astonishing X-men
X-Men Legacy
Uncanny X-men.
Mine is Legacy by far. I dont understand some of the dislike for this book. I never really cared for Xavier but seeing him deal with his past is interesting. Its a slow burn for sure, but its well thought out.
Astonishing is my second so far. Only two issue in, but i have faith in ellis. Sometimes i love the art, sometimes i hate it. I'm interested to see where it is going.
Uncanny isnt doing a whole lot for me at the moment. I have a feeling its going to pick up, but nothing much is happing at the moment. I don't mind lands art as much as most.

Legacy is great.
Carey on an X book has been the most fun I've ever had with the title

I'll go with none....all books are below par IMO. I'm still holding out on them getting better though. I'm sure Astonishing will pick up steam and Legacy, after a terrible start, is finally starting to be likeable. Uncanny is sort of in a mess right now, mostly due to the art.

Legacy is quality stuff; I just have gripes about certain things Carey does with the characters.
Astonishing I'm just not that interested in. I guess I've just had enough of those characters back during whedon's run.
Uncanny i'm now looking forward to the most since fraction is taking over without Bru.

Personally I am loving Legacy not sure why people have problems with the book. It is nice to see an x-book acknowledging its past giving it some interconnection with the older stories. Also Xavier needs some growth he has been so all over the place and i think after awhile we the readers and Xavier himself will see him in a new light and it will allow him to become a relevant character again.
Astonishing I'm gonna read it but to early to judge atm but not really diggin the art I do have faith it will be a solid run.
Uncanny I'm looking forward to see how it plays out Fraction has a plan that will be going on for awhile and it will be nice to see stories seeded through out playing out in little pieces here and there then coming to the forefront later and I am already interested in the Magneto High Evolutionary thing.
Not on the list is X-force and i dont see why cause that book is seriously 857% pure concentrated awesome my only gripe about the book is i have to wait a month for the next issue.
Young x-men not diggin gonna keep collecting cause i am a sucker and holding on to hope.
Cable is slow but Messiah Complex was so good im gonna keep reading cause its an extension of that story line.

Right now, Legacy's the clear champ. "Wolverine" is up there thanks to some solid arcs lately. We'll see if that continues after Millar.

x-men legacy, then uncanny x-men. astonishing is very good for what it is, maybe even exceptional, but i just can't get into that space sci fi stuff unless it has a lot of typical x-men stuff. i will continue to read it because its great, but i prefer these two titles over it.
a lot has happened in x-men legacy. omega sentinel pummeled by frenzy, frenzy lasered by powerless magneto, professor x had his brain fixed but lost his memories, the whole hellfire club thing, gambit's return and team-up with xavier and shaw, sisniter's return, miss sinister's first appearance, tied up black womb/amanda mueller story with gambit and/or the summers, rogue going to australia, hazard's craziness in asylum and xavier's visit, juggernaut's fury soon to be unleashed... it has a lot going for it and its tying old plot threads up nicely.

None. I think the quality of the x-franchise was much better before Messiah Complex.

Right now my vote is Legacy. I'm really digging on that book, it's had some great moments. Shaw and Magneto in particular were huge bright spots.

Astonishing is the one that interests me the most. Uncanny looks promising with Fraction (though hasn't delivered anything yet), and I'm not sure if I'll continue to read Legacy for much longer; Carey does everything he can, sure, but the whole premise of the book is already a bad idea. And now they're crossing over with Way, which is an even worse one.

Legacy and Astonishing.
Legacy has been very good so far and the next two issues seem quite interesting as well. Not looking forward to the Wolverine crossover though.
Astonishing needs more time to tell for sure. The two first issues have felt a bit too short.
Uncanny comes in at a strong 3rd place.

Legacy
Uncanny and Astonishing are kind of tied, and honestly, I'm thinking about placing Young X-Men above them.

For me, Legacy is the best among the three.
But I don't think it's one of the core books though. The numbering might be following the adjectiveless. But now, I think it's completely a different book.

Why no X-Force? It's currently the only book I make an effort of going to the LCS right on Wednesday to get.
Otherwise Legacy is good too, I'm liking the direction Carey's taking it in.

As far as I'm concerned, Legacy and X-Force should be the true main x-books. Uncanny and Astonishing may star the A-listers, but it's Carey, Yost and Kyle who are and will be addressing all the big hanging plot lines.
(Xavier, Hellfire Club, Sinister, The Purifiers, Bastion, Rogue)
Meanwhile the other two books have moved across the country to SF (and stereotyped its inhabitants), set up a new base, and they both pretty much feature the same main cast.

Why no X-Force? It's currently the only book I make an effort of going to the LCS right on Wednesday to get.
Because it's not a Core X-Book. The satellite titles aren't part of this poll. If they were it'd probably get my vote, right now, too.
For me it's Legacy, by a landslide. The way that Carey is using past continuity to weave new plots is nothing short of brilliant. some sound characterisations, decent developments, you just can't flaw this book.
Ellis' Astonishing is pretty hard to tell with, yet. I was far from blown away by #1, I have to admit. I really need to see where this goes, before deciding whether I'm onboard with it. I'm a big Ellis fan, and I was interested in some of things he was discussing in interviews around the time of his announcement on the book, but right now it's just too soon to tell.
Uncanny has me very much in two minds. I kind of like the move to San Francisco, and the tone of #500 really had me inspired that this was a proper fresh new chapter in the X-Men's lives. I was primed. I also love Dodson's art.
But then I hate Land's. I find it really off-putting when every character on the page is posing for the camera, in each panel. It's so fake a style, it really detracts from the story.
I also do have to wonder what those future plots will be. Because Uncanny really dragged at times in the last year, and while I like Fraction (Loved The Order) I'm not 100% sure that he can breath the new life into the book that is needed. Again, really need to wait and see, I guess.

Well, out of those three, Legacy slightly over Astonishing, with Uncanny a distant 3rd. Overall though, it's X-Force.
It's really too early to tell for Astonishing and Uncanny. I loved Ellis' first issue but the second didn't do as much for me. The last issue of Uncanny was not good but I'll wait a while before passing judgement.

sexteplet post. that's a first.
So you're saying you're into orgies right? No less than six people.
As for the books,:
Uncanny: Just very 'eh'. Everything they've done since MC is forgettable filler. The new arc they started with 500 might be good. Too early to tell. Wasn't blown away though.
Astonishing: So far, Ellis' run is like Whedon's to the extent that I enjoy it, it has great art and funny dialogue. But it also still feels kinda....on the outskirts. AU. Like nothing that happens in this book really affects the rest all that much. I know I should see it on its own merits but this IS a shared universe.
(I know, Peter's back, Kitty's gone, yaddah yaddah, but it still feels borderline 'What If' sometimes)
X-Force: Love the art, intrigued by the concept and I've been enjoying it. But nothing much has happened yet. People complain about Legacy being slow, but that has had way more things happen.
In X-Force I'm still kind of waiting for 'it' to really start. I mea mostly we follow the Purifiers as they plot and plan and have internal strife. The X-team is kind of on the sidelines not really doing much so far.
Legacy: My favorite because no other book does what Carey does with the characters. Or with X-Men history, actually making past arcs and subplots work and seem like it all fits together. I do wish they'd get some more characters in there. I know it's not a team book but it could still be an 'ensemble' book. Gambit shouldn't leave. Rogue should be added. Cannonball. Iceman...Hey 'Buffy' was about Buffy Summers, but she still had a supporting cast that kinda felt like a team.
I'm not crazy about the Origins crossover as an idea since that series (while not badly executed) has been the worst thing to happen to Wolverine in years.
(And for pete's sake I'm tired of kids! Movie Superman has a kid. Indiana Jones has a kid. The Mummy hero has a kid. The Hulk has a kid. Wolverine has a kid! Enough already! Making them parents is not the end-all to your writing problems!)
X-Factor: I'm afraid I'm not really following it. I think PAD is a great writer but none of those characters are really my favorites. I could never get into the teams that bascially consist of all B-listers. (No offense to anyone)
Cable: Cable's got the kid in the future. Bishop is following. There I just gave you the first 5 issues. I loved #6 though, but this show's gotta get on the road already!
So yeah Legacy. Get to Rogue. And I hope UXM is going to be great in the upcoming months.

Legacy explained AT LAST the whole Black Womb thing in detail, I am grateful for that. a Book that is deeply connected to Continuity is what fans should appreciate and adore, and I certainly do.
