Not sure if there is already a thread about this but.... Has anyone out there purchased a Kindle? Do you like it? I have read some of the reviews already but would like more opinions and information if possible before I shell out the money for one. Sounds great but i have been burned before....

Based on the one I was able to play with at my library, the interface is decent, the screen is great, and it's just about right in terms of size and weight.

That said, I can't imagine actually shelling out for one. Talk about overpriced.

Once the price comes down, like it did with the iPod, I might get one, especially if a wider range of books at a lower price point are available by then. But I'm such a fetishist for the physical qualities of books that I can't imagine an electronic device ever being the primary way I read -- and as most of the books I buy are out of print anyway, it would mostly be a way to read the books I'd be checking out of the library otherwise.

So if the price came down it would be worth it? What about if it contained some type of free content? Heard anything about a 2.0 version at all???
I am the type of person that reads three or four books at a time and think this would be easier than carrying them but I am leery and think I should wait until another version comes along. Can't find these to see for myself anywhere!!

First time that I have heard of this product. Looks interesting and a bit tempting to get,but it is still cheaper to go to a used bookstore or half-price store and buy the book. I think that I'll have to pass on the Kindle.

If you have an iPod or iPhone and you jailbreak or pwn it you will be able to download an ebook reader which I find fantastic and save a lot of money buying a device which limits you to only reading books for $400.
