I finally checked this out from the library (since it hadn't been available for sometime) and I have to say, while I liked it, I was a bit disappointed. I have been a Steve Martin fan since birth and knew 80% of what was written in the book.

Although autobiographical, the book doesn't really delve into anything we didn't already know. Some talk of his parents and sister, a brief mention of some girlfriends, but most of the things he covers are already known to loyal fans.

Nonetheless, I am happy I read it.

If you haven't read Martin's Pure Drivel, I recommend doing so. The title says it all.

I am pretty sure I read it. That's the one about the guy with OCD who lives in an apartment in So Cal and befriends a neighbor lady right?

It's a collection of essays. All pure drivel. That particular description might fit one of the stories, but there's so much crazy shit in there I don't remember.

My bad, I was thinking 'Pleasure of My Own Company". I will check out Pure Drivel next time I'm at the library. Thanks for the recommendation.
