I'll guess there are already Watchmen threads floating around this site somewhere. Any idea where?
I'd like to check them out.
...otherwise... well, lol, here's a Watchmen thread right here.
Anybody who owned the Watchmen (in hard-copy print) prior to the announcement of the production of the movie: what do you think of the initial movie trailer that has been released?

I read the paperback years ago and again last year and I can say that scenes from the trailer seem to be taken straight from the panels of the book. It looks amazing and I can't wait for the movie to be released.

I read it for the first 5 years ago.

I re-tread it every year, and the ONLY parts of the trailer that isn't a panel is the part where the guy throws the molotov cocktail through a window, and where Nite-Owl screams in that "KAHNNNNN" moment.
Otherwise, I can't god damn wait for the movie...

It looked like a trailer for a Zack Snyder movie. All flash no substance, which is pretty much the polar opposite of the book.
I'll still see the movie, I'm interested in knowing if he can pull it off.

...fellow watchmen fans may either appreciate and/or simply enjoy this...
trailer gn style:

trailer split screen:

original source where i found these 2 videos:

...if you have some spare time, you might consider reading that discussion/thread in the imdb forums.
in any case, after seeing the initial movie trailer i had several vivid images in my head of the actual comic/gn. surely enough, the producers are remaining true to the story and to the visual aspects. though, they were pretty true too their previous movies (aka director zack synder and the movie "300"). "miss_natalie", over at imdb's forums, did an excellent job with the graphic novel style trailer, it was also really neat to get to see it split screen with the movie's trailer.
by the way, watchmen is going to be available on imax!
EDIT:
The imdb link above may not work, the thread is in this imdb discussion thread:

EDIT 2:
If you'd like to find the exact thread here are some details on it:

<bump>...a recent thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?p=7314248#post7314248) has sort of started a debate on Dr. M. vs other characters, so I think I'll bump this thread in case anybody wants to chime in, at least on specific Watchmen (not "versus") discussion.</bump> [grin]
