Hi!
I'm familiar, just a little, with the actual Superman/Batman combined comics though do not know the stories in there, nor do I know if there are any other stories (outside of those comic books) that may have included superhero to villain cross-overs similar to the questions below.
One of the most iconic villains to Superman has been Lex Luthor. A human without superpowers (well, traditionally I mean).
One of the most iconic villains to Batman has been the Joker. A human without superpowers, as far as I know at least.
Given, among these four famous figures, I only know of the one - Superman - to have all of those immense superpowers. Though I think it goes without saying that, while superpowers definitely help, one doesn't have to have superpowers to defeat one who does have them.
Although Batman is a human without superpowers (as far as I know at least, given the various continuities out there), that doesn't seem to restrict him to accomplishing awe-inspiring tasks and actions that are certainly common with an individual who does have superpowers.
Likewise, both the Joker and Lex Luthor, in their apparent non-superpowers human-only fashion seem to be quite successful at accomplishing awe-inspiring tasks and actions that are certainly common with an individual who does have superpowers.
So, putting superpowers aside, considering it a moot point basically, and considering how awesome each superhero or villain is in their own right, it seems like there could be some absolutely amazing face-offs between the cross-overs.
I'm familiar with the 2 categories in here, separate from this one, that focus on (1) Batman, or (2) Superman, though it looks like this forum category fits the bill for asking these questions...
I'm curious about superhero to villain overlaps or cross-overs...
...such as Superman vs Batman's villains...
or
...Batman vs Superman's villains...
More specifically, and I'll sort these out, numbered, so it's a little easier to keep organized:
The Joker vs Superman:
Have the Joker and Superman ever been in the same story or, even better, have they ever gone up against each other?
If they have, has the Joker ever defeated Superman in any way?
If he has, has it been in any way other than kryptonite-related? (How?)
If they have faced it off, how has Superman defeated the Joker?
Lex Luthor vs the Batman:
Have Lex Luthor and Batman ever been in the same story or, even better, have they ever gone up against each other?
If they have, has Lex ever defeated Batman in any way?
If he has, how?
If they have faced it off, how has Batman defeated Lex?
Other Superman villains vs Batman:
Are there any other Superman villains who have gone up against Batman and possibly even defeated him in some kind of way? (How?)
How has Batman defeated them?
Other Batman villains vs Superman:
Likewise, are there any other Batman villains who have gone up against Superman and possibly even defeated him in some kind of way? (How?)
How has Superman defeated them?
Thank you very much!
