I am watching Ferris Bueller on HBO (I think) right now and when he's blowing horribly on his clarinet, some of the wall trim is a big black banner with Killing Joke written in red. For anyone who cares.

I think that's a reference to the band, not the comic, but I could be wrong.

damn, I thought maybe given the 80's time frame it might have been relevent. Oh well. The band didn't read comics did it?

They're a band from the UK that's been at it since the '70's.

Ferris Bueller came out in '85 or '86.

Batman: The Killing Joke came out in '88.

Nice catch, though.

Maybe Matthew Broderick is actually Rip Hunter. After all, his identity is secret from EVERYONE!

It's funny you posted this. I found Ledger's pefromance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, very reminiscent of Ferris Bueller. He reminded me of an impertinent 15 year old with a rather sadistic streak.

I can even picture the Joker standing on top of a parade float singing 'Danke Scheine' and then blowing it up!
