For those of us who remember, August 2nd was that very special day when Harvey got his "accident" and turned into our favorite villain, Two-Face! Let's celebrate!

Yay! It's been a good month for us Two Face fans hasn't it? A movie and A Very well written Year One and The Joker Asylum Two Face. If only Dini did Something with him on his TEC run.

Here's Bruce Timm's "Two of a Kind", which easily one of the best Two-Face stories ever:

Read it if you have not.

Yeah, I'm dying to see that! But at least Tomasi is writing Two-Face in the next issue of Nightwing!

A "Batman: R.I.P." tie-in! Two-Face hits New York City - but when he takes a bite out of the Big Apple, he finds it rotten to the core. He'll make Nightwing and all of New York pay for their crimes...unless Nightwing can save one of Harvey Dent's old flames from an assassin's bullet!

I actually just picked up Joker's Asylum: Two-Face. I loved the ending. Personally, I think Two-Face is one of Batman's better villains. I mean, let's face it, what's so menacing about The Penguin? See my review of Joker's Asylum: Two-Face here (http://amazingfanboy.blogspot.com/2008/08/comics-this-week.html).

I thought that Two-Face in the Dark Knight was fantastic, so I will enjoy Two Face day.

Here's another one of my Two-Face pieces. My dream is to become a comic writer like so many others and for the longest time I didn't want to write anything with Two-Face in fear I'd mess him up. A few months back, a buddy of mine kept bugging me to get over it and write something, a paragraph about Two-Face. I gave it a shot and went for it and now I have tons of ideas for whenever I write the character. But yeah, here it is... tell me what you think...
Here I am locked up in this abysmal place. We’re in hell. Yes, indeed we are. And we’re locked up with the very scum I hate. All thanks to you. You’re scum too. Yes, because of you. Are you happy? The real question is: are you happy? This is not about me. Yes it is. You keep denying me. I am you. You are me. We are we and we’re in this together whether you like it or not. I don’t like it. Well tough. Deal with it. You’re weak. I don’t need you. You slow me down like an anchor. Because of your weakness, this is our home. SO THIS IS MY FAULT?!?! I was fine until you came! You... you’re a disease! You fit right in with these guys. This… Joker and Zsasz… and… and… And you. That’s right… you. You think anyone else here sees the difference between you and I? We’re in this together, Dent. So do yourself a favor and grow some hair on your sack. You’re nothing without me. And I’m not anything without you. We are justice, don’t you see? Yes… yes, I do see. And we’re the truth. We’re perfection in a two-found package. We’re what they hate about themselves. Yes… yes. So… am I still that disease? No… no, you’re not the disease… we are.

The "we" (like Venom) thing doesn't work for me, and "we" is hardly used in the comics. As one blogger put it, Harvey is not a "we", he's one guy with a good side and a bad side.

Good enough list. But Bruce Timm's "Two of a Kind" is a huge omission.

Batman confronting Two-Face in DKR and saying he sees a reflection.

Honestly, I was writing it from the inside of Harvey's head. Inside his head, it's not just him but the other persona also. In a lot of stories that focus on his POV, that's usually as he's written. Harvey is talking to the bad side while the bad side is talking to Harvey therefore setting up the "we" part. The parts where he's saying "I" is when one persona is referring to himself while the "we" is when either of the persona are referring to both. But when in action, I see that now as a way of the two finally in a weird way "coming together" and becoming "I"... if that even makes a bit of sense.

Robin Year One. Written by Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty; Art by Javier Pulido and Robert Campanella.
Highly recommend. One of my favorite stories. Two-Face is in top form.

Still marking out from seeing TDK on Saturday, so I'll go with:
Det. Wuertz: "Dent! Jesus, I heard you were dead!"
Two-Face: "Half..."
and
"The only morality in an unfair world is chance."
along with this memorable one from Arkham Asylum:
"The moon is so beautiful. It's a big silver dollar, flipped by God. And it landed scarred side up, see? So He made the world."
As for stories, I'll probably go with the Long Halloween/Dark Victory, followed by Face the Face, his role in No Man's Land, and Dixon/Beatty's Robin: Year One.

it's weird. i loved the Batman Animated series Two-Face. i love Eckhart's version. but i've never been able to get into the comic book version. i think his entertainment value is inconsistent.

My favorite Two-Face stories would have to be "Eye of the Beholder" and "The Long Halloween." Also, I'm going to add the 2-parter Two-Face episode and the Judge episode of the animated series.
Favorite lines: Two-Face: Poison Ivy.
Poison Ivy: It's been a long time, Harvey. You're still looking halfway decent.
Two-Face: Half of me wants to strangle ya.
Poison Ivy: And what does the other half want?
Two-Face: To hit ya with a truck.
I also love that Two-Face line in Arkham Asylum about God making Earth after getting the scarred side of the moon. Good stuff. And from the movie: the "Lie to him" line he gave to Gordon. That scene was just intense!
Moments: I'd say the stuff with Renee and him in NML and when he became Gordon's lawyer against Two-Face. I also loved the issue that had to do with Two-Face writing and drawing his own comic book.

Hmm. I can understand how that can be, there are certain characters I only find interesting in other things than others. But I do think writing Two-Face can be rather difficult. One reason I say that is because a majority of his stories seem to be origins and also unlike a lot of different villains, he never seems to have one specific motive. Each appearance is something different so it may seem rather difficult to get a grasp on what makes him "relatable" or know his goals. That probably goes well in hand in his indecisiveness to, well... make decisions.
