I love Chaykin!

He always seeks to appall rather than appeal.

It's sad that Howie said he would never be as well known as John Byrne. In Byrne's defense, he has been much more prolific throughout his career, but Howie is a true legend. He can write, draw, letter, dialogue with the best of them.

Some of my favorite comics are American Flagg !, the 80's Shadow, Blackhawk, the Challengers of the Unknown mini he did a few years back, the 2 issue prestige format Elseworld's Secret Society of Super-Heroes, Black Kiss and I'm probably forgetting a couple.

His Star Wars holds a soft spot in my heart. That early Chaykin is good too.

His characters all kind of look and act the same but whereas I tire of it from Starlin, I never do from Chaykin. I'll buy practically anything he does.

The black humor and pervy bad boy vibe he gives to his work is trademark Chaykin too. I love it.

I'm getting ready to sell quite a bit of my 35 year comics collection but American Flagg is staying.

Can't wait to hear what he's doing for Marvel.

Great piece on Chaykin. Nice to see that he's still funny, and that he still doesn't give a shit, in all the right ways.

I love Howard Chaykin. I've been captivated by his work from the get-go (either Iron Wolf or Sword of Sorcery, whichever it was I saw first). He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest talents working in comics and I look forward to each new project. And it's high time Marvel showed Chaykin a little more love by collecting all of his Dominic Fortune stories together, or perhaps letting him do a new Fortune mini-series. (Not sure if Chaykin is interested, but I sure am!). And it goes without saying that I'm really looking forward to that prequel to Black Kiss.
