It's depressing no one has replied to this yet. One of the best shows on TV.

Is it?

I'm always looking for new boxed sets to add to my collection...provided I can find or order them discount.

What can you tell me to convince me that it's worth the purchase?

Two leads who are brothers, who act and brother chemistry but aren't in real life, better horror stories and effects in a tv-14 rating and budget than a majority of horror movies that hit theaters. Monsters, Myths, Great Humor, overall its just fantastic.

Oh and as to why I didn't reply before this. If you post a thread only to post a list to another thing I not going to click the link or reply because if you actually want a discussion you shouldn't be lazy and you should actually post what you want us to read here and then make a solid start yourself.

Its a pet peeve of mine for people to do lazy crap like that. It makes sense to credit the source so the link is fine, but quote the article as well for christ sakes. Though I do understand CBR wanting us to go to another part of the site for hits as well. Its just annoying and seems like spam ad stuff.

True but I believe Sam is one of the most developed characters in Supernatural IMO.

My favorite show currently on TV. Perhaps my favorite show of all time. Definitely top 5.

I've got a feeling this is the last season but I'm grateful for every season we get at this point since I didn't we'd get another after the 2nd.

It's even more depressing that no one replied to the season 4 thread I started.

@Syzygy. You ask the viewers to convince you that it's worth the purchase. Well, what can I say. You got 2 demon hunting brothers, the Winchester brothers, each with his own distinctive character. They are cool, they can be funny, they have charisma and they kick ass. Seldom did I see a better depiction of good vs evil. The mythology that is being built is awesome. The stories are awesome. Supernatural managed to have the best season ending three years in a row. The payoff was always awesome. There are lots of "Holy shit. That was cool" moments. There are not too many whiny b****s around. There is a cool car and the soundtrack is topnotch.
The Winchester Brothers, as a unit, are in my top 10 of coolest tv characters ever and they are joined by the likes of Vic Mackey, Lucas Buck, Jim Profit, B.A. Baracus, T-Bag, Mr Chapel, Spike, Angel and Illyria. Supernatural is a very underrated tv show and should have a bigger following than it has now. Those following it don't regret it. Most of them cherish the show.

Now I don't know what your taste is, but if you like things like Buffy and Angel you will definitely enjoy Supernatural. Supernatural topples them both (and I am gonna get flamed for saying the truth).

And yes, it's one of the best shows on tv. For me it's second best after the Shield.

I just got seasons 1 and 2 for the bargain price of $19.99 each (list: $48.99).

Probably be a while till I get a chance to watch them, but I've got 'em now.

Just don't give up on the show. This is now one of my three favorite shows of all time but I actually gave up on it early in season one. I'm not sure why I gave up, I just did. So I quit watching until I watch an episode near the end of season and I'm utterly blown away at how good is. From then on I really was hooked.

The best part of the whole series IMO is the 2nd half of season II. The writers didn't know if they'd get a third season so they pulled out all the stops and delivered a lot of the best episodes of the series. And the finale to season II I still say is the best season finale I've ever seen in a series. Again the writers didn't know if there would be a third season so they gave a great sense of closure while still leaving the door open for future stories.

Most people I know, that complained about the show gave up after 3 or 4 episodes. The reason was the fact that they were standalone episodes and didn't focus on Sam and Dean finding their father. Nearly every show needs some time to find the rhythm. I don't even think the first four episodes were bad. I enjoyed them a lot but they don't compare to the episodes following afterwards.
And I did manage to convince some people to retry it and now they are as hooked as I am. I don't know many shows that leave me in high anticipation for the next episode.
