I'm looking to start a new trade and would like to know what you think?

What one would you recommend for me to read first?

Watchmen

or

Long Halloween

Watchmen - no contest. The Long Halloween is an amiable puffy story disguised by excellent art. Watchmen is an all time classic

Long Halloween is a reasonably solid story that kind of loses it's way. The best thing it has going for it is Tim Sale's amazing art.

Watchmen on the other hand is a modern classic and one of the greatest comics ever written, and should be essential reading for any comic book fan.

Definitely Watchmen.

If for no other reason, you should read Watchmen simply b/c of the movie coming out.

Seriously i dont see why you have to choose. Read both.

$20 vs $40

I'd definitely go with Watchmen, because you'd not only be catching up for the movie, you'd be getting the better work, in my opinion. LH isn't bad but I don't see it even comparing.

First. Watchmen. Later you can read LH so you properly continue in to reading DV without pause.:biggrin:

Well, I may be biased as I'm reading Watchmen now, but it is brilliant. It's much more dense than Long Halloween. Both are murder myseteries, but Watchmen is much more. It has many other things going on at the same time. There's commmentary on superheros, the cold war, and a bunch of other things. Long Haloween is more stylized and streamlined as just a noirish mystery with Batman. Long Halloween is fantastic still. It's just different. So it depends which you're more in the mood for. How dense of a read do you want?
