The Milestone character license news got me thinking. Who and how would you introduce other characters you favor from other universes into the DCU proper? This of course assuming you are making them permanent fixtures to the DCU as if they were always there?

It's funny you should mention anime because when I first started thinking about this I wanted to introduce Youko Kurama as a character with a connection to Poison Ivy. Basically how I wanted to angle it, Kurama would have been like a prodigy that Ivy came across in her journeys (his beauty, grace, love/knowledge of plants winning her over.) and thus wanting to take him under her wing as the son she always wanted. However it isn't until Pamela observes his unique supernatural connection to the spirit/demon world and his power over all plants native to it and the human world that she becomes obsessed in a bid to dominate him and ultimately bring him into a lifestyle similar to hers. However he himself being fairly intelligent and sly but yet caring tries to deceive Ivy himself and ultimately wishes to see if he can curve her own impulses for carnage and nature based terrorism.
The two eventually becoming adversaries using nature based plant powers while still carrying a very deep affection for one another in a mother and son kind of way. I think that'd be awesome.
I wanted to ultimately remove the Youko Kurama persona though as it didn't play well in my mind to have the Fox Spirit being such a dominate issue in any potential story. Though I wanted all the power it contained to be accessible by Kurama or should I say Shuiichi. So basically my version of him would have all the power of the former while only looking like the later.

I heard Static Shock was joining Teen Titans and will be fighting Ravager.
I remember his cartoon and how painful it was to watch. Hopefully his character will stay true to his violent upbringing in the comic.
I'd like to see Invincible show up for a mini-series with the Titans. During his sojurn into alternate realities while fighting Levy he did show up in the DC universe. He had a chat with Batman if i remember.
I'd also like to see The Authority crossover with The Ultimates

I'd like to see Kalimán (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalim%C3%A1n) in the Justice Society. Or in one of the JMS Brave and Bold books.
Also, I'd love to see a Batman meets El Santo story.

I actually had a dream that Spider-Man was a DCU fixture. He started out his career as Spider-Lad and was a member of the New Teen Titans, and he and Dick Grayson had been best friends since high school, sometimes competing for Barbara Gordon's affections. It makes sense. They're both orphans, effectively raised by strong, independent, single parents (Yes, I'm comparing Batman with Aunt May... deal with it), and they've both got acrobatic fighting styles.
I think it'd be a sweet partnership.
Excellent suggestion of Invincible joining the Teen Titans, by the by.

Hunter Rose Grendel would easily fit into Gotham as one of batman's rogues as can be seen in the first batman/grendel crossover. He's the anti-batman. A socialite by day , a devil by night.

Um... how is that the "anti" Batman? That's pretty much Batman. The anti-Btman would be a Socialite by Night and an Avenger in the day.
All those IPC/Fleet British superheroes that DC bought a few years ago and rarely use, just fold them into the DCU. You'd instantly have a pantheon of British heroes.

I'd like to see the SHRA, as a concept, introduced to the DC Universe. It'd be interesting to watch people react to it.

In literal terms, you'd sort of be right; but I think marshal99 meant to say that Hunter Rose Grendel is Batman's moral opposite; they're both socialites by day, but one is a hero and the other a villain.

QFT! Sign me up for all three of those!
DC once had a license for Richard Benson, the Avenger, with art by Jack Kirby. I'd like to see that character reintroduced and assimilated.

I'd also be tickled to see Layla Miller from X-Factor folded over into the DCU proper, specifically into Teen Titans, with Grant Morrison writing. Good lord, the metafictional possibilities of that character in that setting could rival what Morrison did in his early run on Animal Man.

Galactus. It'd be interesting to see the DC heroes face off against him. With no Watcher to tell them how to beat him.

Don't take this too personally, but that is a horrible idea.
The SHRA would really destroy the entire vibe of the DCU. Almost all of the major superheroes have secret identities, which I couldn't see them giving up. It would permanently ruin characters like Batman, if they played it out to its full ramifications. And, once they go in that direction, it's pretty hard to turn back.
As for the thread topic, I would bring over the Valiant characters, stick them on Earth-V, and have Shooter write them. If I were to bring some characters over to the main DCU, I'd bring over Harada and the Harbingers or Archer & Armstrong, preferably drawn by BWS.
