Vertigo Executive Editor Karen Berger and the creators behind “The Vertigo Encyclopedia” gave the scoop on the upcoming tome that promises to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the comics of Vertigo.

Like practically everything Vertigo, it's top shelf. This coffee table book will be great to introduce curious tire kickers into buyers.

I'll definitely be buying it despite having most of what Vertigo has published.

Alan Moore ended his run when Swamp Thing was still under the DC bullet as well as a part of the DC Universe. Since Berger has proven time and time again that the only DC characters her imprint can still get right are Constantine and Sandman, why not stop holding Swampy hostage and let him come home. It drives me nuts that she has some unknown power that DC is unable/scared to use original DC characters while they are receiving an "upgrade" at Vertigo. I wonder how long it will be before Madame Xanadu can appear in a Spectre comic again?

Will this include ALL the Vertigo books, including the overpriced early one-shots that faded away into obscurity?

i think the stories were far better when there was some limited interaction with the DCU, ST in particular was a far, far better book when it wasn't written as a vertigo book, strangely having Swampy interact with Batman (and Luthor) when he took over Gotham made the story far more real to me, i would go as far as saying Swamp Thing was a very poor book under the vertigo banner and yet the Moore run while it was in the DCU is probably one of my favorite runs of all comic books......putting the vertigo title on the front cover just so you can add a few swear words and some nudity does not always make a better book
