Hey,

Is this a 'good enough' version of the complete story? I'm picking up all 10 in n/m condition for about $60 which seems like a pretty solid deal if this is the complete story more or less.

How do you guys rate the story? Is it as great as it seems to have been rated?

Sounds pretty damn good to me.

What I want to know is, where are you getting all 10 trades for only 60? Volume 3 alone is around 35 anywhere I've found it online.

Hmm... really? Damn... I had no idea since I don't know much about it. That's great!

Not bad at all, but you'll need to do some hunting if you want to collect everything Starman-related by Robinson.

Such as what, exactly?

If I'd not read it, I'd be getting the credit card out.

Long time since I read, but my gut feeling is the most important missing stuff (from the point of view of it helping to make it easier to follow the story) is the Shade mini.... good to read that before you get to the Grand Guignol story arc. But I'd be surprised if those Shade mini back issues can't be picked up at a good price.

Batman/Hellboy/Starman #1-2

aaaaand some solo Ted Knight Starman issues from the golden age that you REEALLLY don't wanna pay for!

that's it for The Knights, I think.

Based on the contents above, issues 36, 42, 44, 46, 54, 74 are not collected. Are they Times Past issues or what?

sorry for the delay.

36: Times Past story with the Will Payton Starman. Also has that nice Surburbian serial killer couple.....

42: Times Past with Ted Knight and the Demon in 1944....

44: Times Past with Ted and The Phantom Lady circa 1944

54: Times Past with Ted and The Jester vs Icicle. Fiddler and The Gambler circa 1954. Throw in The Shade and Bobo. It's one of my favorite issues of the series.

74: Times Past with Scalphunter in 1899.

Tks so there's one more volume to be collected but not essential to the storyline.

They're probably not going to be collected, what with DC doing the new HC collections.

Yeah, whoever is selling these trades is probably getting the hardcovers.

That's great for me, though, as I really dislike hardcovers and am happy to spend about $6.50 per trade on a set of 10 - can't beat that!

Yeah - I recently got a similar deal on ebay.co.uk, and then promptly sold off the comics I've got, keeping the ones that weren't collected.

There was a Robinson-penned Ted Knight story as a backup in JSA: All-Stars #4.

Also a Jack Knight story in the All-Star Comics 80-Page Giant.

Girlfrenzy: The Mist #1

Starman #1,000,000

Stars & STRIPE #0

The two crossover issues of Power of Shazam.
