And if Internet message boards were limited to topics that had "value" ...

2. Hellboy
3. Incredible Hulk
4. The Dark Knight
5. Hancock
SnowTrooper

1. Dark Knight- Do I really need an explanation?
2. Iron Man- Great acting, great directing, good story, good action.
3. Incredible Hulk- Only beats out Hellboy 2 because Tim Roth ruled ass.
4. Hellboy 2- Really liked it, but it felt like it was missing something.
5. Hancock- Too short, no supervillian, kinda lame.
Havent seen Wanted yet, and obviously Punisher: Warzone and The Spirit arent out yet, so who knows where those movies will land.

5. Hancock- Too short, no supervillian, kinda lame.
It ran long enough, did have a supervillain, and was a great movie.
Thing is, I can't rank these movies.
1. The Dark Knight Returns
2. In a distant but still very satisfying second: Hellboy II
3. Iron Man in a very close third.
4. Wall-E (well, he's a hero to ME, you jerk)
I'll hold off on the Incredible Hulk until it hits DVD, and I've absolutely no desire to see Hancock.

It ran long enough, did have a supervillain, and was a great movie.
The movie was only 90 minutes long, it was a short movie, and felt rushed and condensed to me. An extra 20 minutes to the runtime would have helped alot.
I wouldnt call a Fugitive Bank-Robber a supervillian, and I wouldnt call Charlize Theron one either. She and Will Smith just had a little fight, they werent enemies. The movie had plenty of antagonists, but no supervillians.
A great movie? No, absolutely not. A fun movie? Sure. Hancock was nothing special, neither in the superhero genre or the action/adventure genre. The only 'great' thing about Hancock was when Mike Epps called him Handjob right after the credits started to roll.

So far my favourite summer movies have been Iron Man and Wall-E.
I haven't seen Hellboy 2 yet, but I doubt it will knock off Iron Man as my pick for this year's best superhero movie.

1. Dark Knight: One of the best Batman films I have ever seen
2. Iron Man: Great cast, the action was well done, Downey Jr was definitly the right person to play Tony Stark.
3. Hancock: A pretty good superhero movie that didn't really had anything to do with Marvel or DC
4. Wanted
5. Hellboy 2: Fun movie but it felt kinda rushed to me

1. Dark Knight - Best. Comic. Book. Movie. Ever.
Nothing deserves the 2nd spot because that would imply it was close to my #1 in quality.
3. Hancock - needed a real villian. Any villian in fact.
3a. Iron Man - also needed a real villian instead of a caricature of a villian.
Haven't seen The Incredible Hulk though I may do so this week now that its at the discount theater. Haven't seen Hellboy and won't see it in the theater though I may rent it. Haven't seen Wanted but will definitely rent it on DVD.

1st - The Dark Knight: (by a long shot) In terms of scope, acting and, well everything, is just excellent.
2nd - Iron Man: Robert Downey Jr. excellent depiction of Stark alone warrents it, and they handled the origin and rise of Iron Man so well, the only real flaw is that Iron Monger/Stane wasn't the most memorable villain (and was fairly predictable). Still, Bridges portrayed him well.
3rd (just) - Hellboy 2: I love the way Del Toro creates such visually impressive movies, and the characters are brought so well to the screen (yay Johann Krauss)
4th - The Incredible Hulk: Better then the last one, I preferred the "Banner on the run" narrative, and Tim Roth was great.
5th - Hancock: A very nice idea, and Will Smith did very well with it, but it kind of fell felt patchy past mid way. I agree - an actual villain would have helped, and a bit more running time so they could explore things a bit more - trying to squeeze in superheroics, a redemption plot, a "who am I" subplot, an odd "romance through time" story, prisoner revenge plot...
6th - Wanted: I felt it was bit silly, and the plot was kind of generic (and considering the source it was adapted from, you'd think they could have tried something gone for something a bit new). Still, a bit entertaining.
Dark Knight
Iron Man
I didn't really care much for the new hulk, though i thought it was much better then the original, and didn't go to see Hellboy 2.
Short list.

Anyway, for me it's
1. Dark Knight, way in the lead
2. Iron Man
3. Hellboy 2, which rightly border lines on fantasy horror
4. Hulk, which I think got very underrated
Didn't see Wanted. They seem to have purposefully taken out any superhero parts of it, so I'd count it out. Meanwhile Hancock is the opposite, forcing superhero parts on a supposedly original superhero movie concept. I didn't bother with either. If you count either of those, yeah, Wall E is still the better superhero.

Is there even a contest among the most known characters?
1) The Dark Knight
2) Iron Man
3) The Incredible Hulk
Haven't seen Hancock (and won't), and Wanted hasn't been released here yet.

Actually, can I add the Watchmen trailer to that list? It was up there with some of the full movies I saw so far this year.

Mine would be The Dark Knight, Ironman, Spiderman and Hulk would be my last. I still love Spiderman movies thought The Dark Knight was already released. I just don't like much on Robert Downey Jr.

1) Hellboy II
--Tremendous visuals, great characterization, a good story, etc..
2) Iron Man
--Downey Jr. was amazing, everything about this movie was great until the Iron Monger.
3) Hancock
--This movie had a great villain, Hancock himself, I'm still amazed that people don't get that. A great spin on the idea of what a hero is and Smith did a great job of portraying the inner turmoil within Hancock.
4) The Dark Knight
--Tremendous visuals and an engaging story. But they went too heavy on the "Gotham needs a hero", Bale was mediocre, Gyllenhall was bad like usual, and I didn't care for a few choices like the Two-Face prosthetic or the use of the sonar at the end.
5) The Incredible Hulk
--Great action and a fun movie, but this movie had absolutely no plot or attempts at great acting.
6) Wanted
--it was fun for a bit then they started messing with their own inner-movie universe physics and introduced idiotic things like the loom of fate and the idea that Angelina Jolie's collar bone poking me in the eye as she walks away is somehow hot.
