Hello!

This is my first post. I looked around for a rule that went against this kind of post, but I couldn't find it. Please forgive me if I am breaking any guidelines.

I first became intrigued with Batman at around 12 or 13 when I started watching B:TAS and then quickly moved to the comics. Very soon after I started reading, the Knightfall series began, which freaked me out. I wasn't expecting paralysis and Batman replacements, I just wanted to learn more about Bruce and his story. I went back and learned all I could about the previous Robin's, etc etc, as well as moving forward with the (then) current storyline. I stuck around until right after Zero Hour and just couldn't keep up anymore, but have always had a very soft spot in my heart for the Dark Knight.

So of course, I went to go see the movie and it stirred up all my dark fascination with the mythology. So I started web-hopping to see what's been going on with Bruce and Co. since I left. Wikipedia stole my soul for an afternoon, and then somehow was led here.

WHOA! Seriously?! Batman's son Damien was a twist, but the hardest part to swallow is Jason Todd back from the dead. I am hoping Wikipedia didn't explain it well enough because it sounds ridiculous, even for comic book continuity.

Anyway, the main point of this post is...could any long time veterans help me figure out what and who to read to get caught up? Or *gasp* anybody really dedicated who loves to go on and on about Batman wanna send me a synopsis by email or private message or something? I know a lot has gone on, but I really wanna catch up. I picked up the graphic novel of The Return of Ra's which filled me in on Damien a bit. Nice to see sweet and sexy Nightwing still rocks my socks. Disappointed in Tim, but I guess he's been thru a lot since I last saw him.

So, again. Help? Please? And again, apologies if this is not the right place to post a post like this.

Here's some links to check out -

Batman: The Continuity Pages (http://sequart.com/batman.htm) - Gives a pretty general overview of what's been going on since the eary 90's.

Batman: Collected Issues of the Dark Knight (http://www.rasalghul.co.uk/) - Has a database of single issues along with covers, and lists crossover issue #'s.

Batman TPB List (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=35000) - The sticky at the top of this page. Has summaries of some popular trades.

As for getting into the current stuff, I would go back to the start of Morrison's run and catch up there. And get the last issue of 'Tec (846?). That was the start of a new arc which also "ties in" to what's going on in Batman.
