Raiden (end of MGS2 version) takes Squall's place right at the start of the game (after waking up in the infirmary). Raiden gets his stats altered to be the same as Squall's, and has the benefit of Squall's gunblade skills pumped into his brain.
How does Raiden act differently throughout the course of the game?
Bonus Scenario: Solid Snake takes Irvine's place. Same basic set-up.
