Yeah, somebody who was at the Con and got to read the issue needs to tell me what happened, and tell me right now! :-P

"The fans reading the issue were crying."? Overly emotional fans or really good issue? Now I'm intrigued. Most of the press I've read seemed to indicate issue 3 as a turning point or at least where some very significant things start to happen.
Is FC: Resist Rucka writing Checkmate again? If so, that might be the only tie-in other than Requiem that I'll bother with. Don't care for the Legion, care even less for Flash than I did before, the Lanterns... eh, the new Prism of Lantern Corps concepts intrigue me to be honest but not fond of the "star" of the series.
Every time Morrison speaks I get a smidgeon more interested.

Is Hannibal Tabu allergic to writing panel reports that, uh, make sense? Sentences just randomly end, ideas are thrown around with no context... I always end up having to read the competition's report to get something that actually, well, makes sense.

What I don't understand is Morrison saying he just finished up issue 5. Wouldn't you think with all the problems these megaevents have been haiving the last few years as far as getting them out on time and all the time Morrison has had to do this story he would have the whole thing written by now?
Either way I am still not interested in the main Final Crisis book, but I am enjoying a few of the spinoffs.

He's written the full story already, but issue scripts come at a slower pace since they break the story down for the artist. Issue 5 is due in October, so that's a reasonable amount of time for the art team to complete things.
In fact, I'm pretty sure Morrison designs the outline for the story and gives that to the aritst first, so he can work on his pages in advance, and then scripts in the words after the fact. More of the Marvel-Style instead of Full-Script. In his panel with Stan Lee he actually said he prefers Marvel-Style as it's more collaborative, and Full-Script can get boring at times.

No offense to Hannibal (who obviously wanted to get this report in as soon as possible so CBR could bring us the news first) but here's a link to Newsarama's arguably better-written version. (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080725-comic-cont-Crisis-Managment.html)
i did not understand a single word that was written

A rather convoluted question involving whether or not Morrison’s use of the Fourth World characters, which were created in the ‘60s, were a response to modern times and this being “the new 60s,” was asked of Morrison. He responded well to the question, explaining that “every 11 years the sun switches its magnetic field polarity. The latest solar reversal happened in January of this year and everything’s started to change, culturally. you can see that in bands, shows on TV.” So, um, yes?
^^That was my question. and Morrison totally made my con with an equally convoluted and delicious answer.

He also noted Batman will be chained up for three issues. "So we're not a Claremont levels of S&M," a fan said.
"Every eleven years the sun reverses its magnetic field," Morrison said. "It rewrites your brains. 1955 everyone wears tight clothes, short hair. Eleven years later, people wear long hair, baggy clothes ... the latest solar cycle happened in January. Things are going back to a psychedelic hippie feel. Everything's part of cultural change that happens. Cosmic things change things, that we have nothing to do with."
"Mister Morrison, you just made my con," the same fan said.
^^^this was also all me. from the claremont comment, to the 'made my con'. I met Morrison and his wife several times throughout con and got to talk them a nice amount and it really did make the experience really really special for me.

i need to be able to burn this so i can have a document of me and Morrison having a conversation for posterity. I can't believe I interrupted him! I feel like such a dick, it would have been even more awesome if I let him finish. damn.
