Its been awhile since I did one of these. But these are the BIG stories in comics or in TV. Something I can make fun of or shoot the shit on.
Marvel : The Numbers are WRRROOONG BIIIITTCCH !
Marvel Comics are a happy place right now. In fact they will point to SECRET INVASION as selling really good. No... scratch that were not talking good , were talking SELLING A SHITLOAD. So of course Joe Quesada and everyone is braggin the impressive numbers from ICV2. and how SI is stompin DC ass.
Of course this isn't what makes it funny. If this was , it would be a boring piece. No... Joe Quesada and Marvel are busy claiming the numbers for "Brand New Day" are wrong . Yes... sales recently have went nose-dived with ICV2 saying that Marvel has gotta be alarmed at the sales drops. Of course this was met with "Fuck you , your wrong ...All is Good..."

Why even debate it ? I mean why is the numbers for Secret Invasion considered spot on and Marvel accepts it while these numbers they don't ? Maybe its some weird thing where they want BND to work sooo bad.
And if the ICV2 numbers are off , whats to see Marvel is really doing such a kick ass job with Secret Invasion ? If the numbers aren't right here maybe Dan Didio can claim victory to each month of comics since Marvel says the numbers are wrong.
If I was Dan Didio I'd call up and claim victory and even if its a flimsy reason... fuck it. Marvel opened the door ...go ahead and rub their faces in it. "We claim the 1# sales of the month since Marvel claims the numbers are wrong. Their trying to figure it all out...but for now DC rulz bitches !"
Ohh well.... July is almost over and can ya imagine if the numbers drop anymore ? And can you imagine the crazy excuses you'll see ? Thus far.... I have a top ten list on why Brand New Day isn't working...
10 # Not enough crossover tie-ins !
9# : Not enough Peter Parker having wild sex.
8# : We need more varient covers !
7# : The US Economy is causing BND to tank !
6# : George Bush hates Spiderman.
5# : Not enough A-List creators jumping on board.
4# : No Mary-Jane/Gwen Stacy lesbian scene.
3# : How many times can those web shooters run out ?
2# : No JMS.
AND THE 1# reason why BND isn't working....
1# : Assholes like me and a lot of us won't give it a chance ! DAMN US .

Wow...I wondered how Waid would handle his EIC duties at Boom Studios. And the guy already is jumping into the fry with a deal to publish comics from Disney ! Thats cool. And Waid is a talented guy so these books should be good and expose the industry better. Its fuckin Disney !
And if Disney really is behind these comics they could show ads on their channels , promote the comics on DVD releases they do and really kick some ass.
Another thing is... with a deal at Disney and since they own the Crossgen characters that are languishing in not being used... could Waid somehow work a deal to get Ruse and some of the properties back ? It would be nice if he could. Its not like Disney is using them anytime soon.
So make it happen Mark Waid ! You are the Higher Power at the moment !
