Well, the Astonishing team isn't too far off from it. You've still got Cyke, Wolverine and Beast, and Emma is in the sexpot role previously occupied by Psylocke while Armor is obviously the Jubilee replacement. Storm basically takes the place of both Rogue and Gambit, I suppose.

I would like to see the Blue and Gold teams again, as long as they bring back Jean first as I am one of the few people who likes her 90's uniform. Otherwise, I'll pass.

No, I'm not particularly interested in it being 1991 again.

You already have half of it in Astonishing. You could even add someone like Rogue and Psylocke, but there is no particular reason why that team should be together again, and no one else on it.

Blue Team sums the early 90's up perfectly.

What is your problem with Jubilee? I think she's awesome. Is this some Dazzler thing? Because I don't see how Jubilee's presence harms Dazzler at all.

Anyway, I think that on the tenth anniversary of the Adjectiveless book they should have run two miniseries "X-Men: Blue" and "X-Men: Gold" that would reunite the two teams for a little while, with maybe Rachel standing in for Jean. Didn't happen. Maybe on the twentieth. I think they should have also run a miniseries or one-shot that unites the cast of the '90s cartoon series again.

If they can revisit Age of Apocalypse, Onslaught and Heroes Reborn, they can revisit this stuff.

Only if the members of the Blue Team have a "Reunited Special" hosted by La-La from MTV.

They could catch up on what they've been up to, reminisce on storys, etc:
La-La: "Gambit, I heard your ex-wife came in and stirred up some problems, let's take a look at what happened."
And then New York storms in as BellaDonna.

Other than that, there's no need for this team to come back.

No.

I say a prayer of thanks everytime Jubilee & Gambit don't show up in one of the core X-books (or readable ones--which is why I'm not sweating bullets over Gambit being in Legacy). Also--while I've always liked Psylocke the whole "dragon lady ninja" is getting played out--and I'm relieved not to see her jumpkicking in every panel just to show off that damn buttfloss.

The blue team was Beast, Psylocke, Rogue, Gambit, Cyclops and Wolverine. Replace Psylocke with Emma and it would be an awesome squad indeed

Blue team was better than any other. Needs at least a mini.

Blue Team was awesome. It would be cool to see them involved in the same story, not as a team, but as former members crossing paths again in some way.

Cyclops - meh
Beast - meh
Wolverine - awesome
Rogue - awesome
Gambit - awesome
Psylocke - ok
Jubilee - awesome

What's done is done. At the time there were like a whole bunch of active X-Men and X-Factor just reabsorbed into the main team (with a new cast working for the government), so that left oodles of muties running around the mansion, so they split into two strikeforces.

But really, the concept didnt even really work or make sense: why have two defined squads when there's no real special mission statement for either and they live in the same house together? And of course this question went unanswered and the whole separate squads thing really dissolved after a year or so and they just picked and chose according to story, which of course make much more sense. The only real reason I think the Blue team/ Gold team idea even survives to this day are those little trading cards with their little Jim Lee illustrations.

Marketing: game, set, and match for the win!

Yeah I liked the blue team better- But if you go by power the Gold team should have dominated-

Archangel vs. Wolverine- As long as Warren is More Death archangel (like in Exctinction Agenda) and less like sissy warren ( anything after Uncanny 300) it would be a toe to toe fight-

Storm Beat cyclops without her powers (Uncanny 201) so she should take him again- (however if Slim is like how he was in Astonishing 22-24 watch out storm)

Jean Would trash Psylocke- No offense to Psylocke but dont Mess with Jean

Collosus would pound out beast -

Iceman should be able to take rougue (if he would grow a pair- like how he was when Emma was in his body)

and Gambit vs. Bishop- I give the Edge to Bishop

Wolverine could handle Archangel for the most part: the only way Warren could win is to stay in the air and pelt Logan with feathers.

Storm Beat cyclops without her powers (Uncanny 201) so she should take him again- (however if Slim is like how he was in Astonishing 22-24 watch out storm)

She won because Scott didn't want to really hurt her. As you say: he would dominate if he was out for blood.

Jean Would trash Psylocke- No offense to Psylocke but dont Mess with Jean

This one I agree with: Jean is much more powerful than Psylocke ever was(except for that time they switched powers or something).

Collosus would pound out beast -

I'm not so sure. A large part of beast's mutation is his agility. While not spider-man level, i think he could dodge circles around someone like colossus.

Iceman should be able to take rougue (if he would grow a pair- like how he was when Emma was in his body)

Since this would be Ms. Marvel Rogue and before Iceman learned to harness his iceform, she'd curbstomp him pretty badly IMO.

and Gambit vs. Bishop- I give the Edge to Bishop

Every time they've fought, Gambit has won, even a depowered Gambit has beaten bishop. Bishop can't even absorb Gambit's energy due to the way he uses it (cards)
