Ursus the Ultrabear? You rock, Jeff Parker.
The Forgotten One is a luchador now? . . . that kind of works, actually.
I have no idea what's going on in Ghost Rider right now, but I like the blue look for Dan Ketch.
Does anyone else think the SECRET WAR omnibus is a mite overpriced for 384 pages?

Wow, really big trade month for me
Daredevil, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Iron Fist, Incredible Herc, and I wanted to check out Sky Doll Last Defenders, American Dream and the Ms. Marvel HC.

This Broken Hand storyline in DD must be were he finds out about Elektra:frown: Fingers crossed she is all right! And as for Avengers:Initiative I knew Ultra Girl was a Skrull! Why else would she not go with Vance when he formed his own team and her and Thor Girl on the same team afterwards! That and she was a No 2 in the Skrull deck

See I don't know about that, I'm assuming that they are going to have a number of extras and incentives plus some of those issues are mighty pricey. I wouldn't be shocked to see them add an extra issue or two after they get in the pre-orders. And it's not nearly as bad as the Civil War Hardcover for 40 bucks.

Terry Moore is doing some godawful covers for his SM LUVS MARYJANE book.
The forced cutesyness is making me heave.

And it's not nearly as bad as the Civil War Hardcover for 40 bucks.Isn't it? According to the solicits, the CW hardcover has 33% more pages and costs 60% less than the SW hardcover. That's with the exact same binding, paper stock, and trim size.

Ugh, the only Serpent Society appearance in October and it's the crappy Marvel Adventures version of the Sons of the Serpent. :frown:

But the stories have been re-printed three times over the last two years, in three different format's in addition to all the varient copies. Secret War has a few issues that are on the pricey end (number 8, and the final What If).

The Knauffs writing a Captain America book and Jeff Parker writing the Hulk vs Frankenstein are this months hiighlights for me.

Yeahhh, that's like $50 for the Ross cover.
Lots of crap I'm getting, but nothing that grabs me from here except for that new Cap mini and the return of Namor. Oh, and the Parker Hulk story, and that sweet ass Ghost Rider cover.

Yes, yes he does. It's probably the first time I've been happy for more Sentry.

Very overpriced. Considering many of the Omnibuses at that size are cheaper.
I don't mind $100 for 700-1000 page ones. But under 400? Crazyness.

Some very interesting stuff in October...
Avengers: the Initiative - You'll notice the reflection of the two shows Thor-Girl as a Skrull, so nothing is definite. But I agree that odds are on Ultra-Girl being a Skrull.
New & Mighty Avengers - Both those SI tie-ins look really interesting, especially the one focusing on Captain Mar-Vell and Noh-Varr.
Incredible Herc - I love that cover. That look on Namora's face is priceless.
Hulk & She-Hulk - Looking forward to the Lady Liberators (Although I thought Valkyrie was still dead? Oh well).
FF - Johnny & Lyja wedding bells? Sue Storm dead? Lyja the Laser Fist taking over spot #4? Just theorizing.
MI:13 - Yeah for Captain Midlands!
X-Force - Has replaced X-Factor as the one X-Book I can still stand.
Young X-Men - Thank G-d for a new line-up...hopefully some of the "New" X-Men will be back.

Boo for Ramos ruining Chase by giving him a ridiculously huge build.

There are no delays. The connecting minis were wrtten because it was expected.
Each issue takes 6 weeks to pencil, ink, color, and ink wash.

I'll be getting the usual Secret Invasion and tie-ins but I didn't read any issues of Marvel Zombies 2 because I was getting tired of it but Marvel Zombies 3 looks a little interesting so I'll give it a try. So happy to see Avengers/Invaders back as well.

Secret Wars for $99 is too much. I don't care that some of the issues can be pricey... Wouldn't they be charging thousands for the Fantastic Four Omnibus if that was the case?

Each issue takes 6 weeks to pencil, ink, color, and ink wash.
And when issue 1 shipped, issue 2 wasn't even finished. So 6 weeks for each issue? Definate delays ahead.
If Bianchi takes that long, why on earth didn't they get to work months ago? That WAS what all the lead time was for.

He has been. But it's still going to eventually end up causing delays.
Better to plan in advance to have a couple connecting tie-ins to give Bianchi extra time.

You mean to say, they planned for the eventual delays?...time was, we only got fill-in artists/stories when and if the artist needed a break to catch his creative breath...tsk tsk...if his ink/wash technique takes so much time why not ask him to just do pencils/inks and have a top-notch colourist take it from there....it's not like his ink/wash is anything stellar (believe me, I've checked, and found it somewhat lacking) and he will still be billed and(and payed) as the artist...Thank goodness I skipped AXM all-together...as an X-fan, if this is wot I have to look forward to, a la the last year of Cassaday's AXM...waiting two months for the actual story to proceed...well...

Frankly, Bianchi's art is nothing to wait 2 months a pop for.
At least Cassaday produced some gorgeous stuff.
Wolverine and Black Panther isnt shipping that month
Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate X-men too
My guess is The Ultimate books will wait till the Ultimate Event cools down
As for Wolverine No idea and maybe they axed Black Panther thats my guess

This month is going to be awesome. I never thought I would hear myself say this, but I may get she hulk again. The Lady Liberators look neat as well as the Frankenstien Hulk issue. Aahh too bad red Hulk seems to be staying around longer than one story arc. I am slightly concerned with once again the x-men needing to have a story that changes everything. X-Men has gotten way too gimmicky. meh.

Exciting stuff:
- I'm getting into Ghost Rider again. I don't know the writer, but a Danny Ketch oneshot looks interesting.
- Ms. Marvel back when she was just in the military? Awesome. I love flashback stories.
- That Ultimate Spidey Annual is going to be a good read.
- Captain Midlands!
- Always look forward too more Marvel Boy. I just hope Bendis does him well in Mighty.
- The Initiative actually has my interest. I'm hoping the Skrull is Thor-Girl, because I'm not really a fan of Slott's usage of her if she is the real deal.
- Ronan the Accuser (is calling him Accuser still accurate?) showing up in SI: Inhumans. I'm looking forward to this series. Hope the writer's good.
- It's a shame they couldn't do more interesting HoM stories when Hom was actually going on, but I'm still interested in HoM: Civil War.
- The Hand in Daredevil. Not sure what I thinkof Lady Bullseye yet, but I look forward to seeign Skrullektra stuff dealt with in Matt's book. And Iron Fist guest stars. That's even better.
- Herc and Namor together again. That has to be entertaining.
- War Machine: Weapon of SHIELD. That's all I need.
Not so exciting:
- A shame those other Ultimate Annuals are written by Loeb.
- It looks like Avengers/Invaders is still going to be about forced superteam conflcts. Oh well.
- I love the Guardians of the Galaxy. The current Guardians. Not really pleased to see a couple of the old ones still hanging around in October.
- Big Hero 6? Does Marvel really want to launch their own Japanese superteam at the same time as Morrison's playing with those ideas in Final Crisis? I don't know. I doubt the comparison will fare well for Big Hero 6.
- I find it a little funny that Young X-Men's solicited as a great jumping on point for new readers when it's only on issue 7.

Big Hero Six dates back to 1997. This is pretty much Trademark Renewal Theater. (Why Marvel feels the need to hold onto that particular trademark, we'll never know.)

new readers when it's only on issue 7.
The solicit said that about #6 too...they would have been better off putting New X-Men on temporary hiatus during "Divided We Stand" and making Guggenheims Young X-Men story a 5 issue mini series...then bringing New X-Men back for the move to San Francisco...instead we now have yet another new line up including two MORE teen characters to add to the mythos when there were already way more than enough.

Finally we get some answers for the Hood. Literally I have been wondering about him since his MAX series ended. They just left it. Also Avengers: Initiative #18. Does it mean either Thor Girl or Ultra Girl, who both have alien origins, is really a Skrull impostor? Or is it a red herring.

It only has SECRET WARS #1-12 -- plus THOR #383, SHE-HULK (2004) #10, and WHAT IF? (1989) #4 and #114.
16 comics, 384 pages. $99.
Complete and utter rip off no matter which way you look at it. As has been mentioned, Civil War has over 100 pages more and is $60 cheaper!

Look at the reflection.
I noticed the reflection, thing is I had my doubts about her before this solicitation was announced. The fact that she wouldn't quit the initiative with Vance and stayed to be assigned a team instead. Her sudden promotion to position of authority (Junior Guardsmen) fits in with the likes of Elektra, Spider Woman and Yellow Jacket's Skrull copies following similar paths to power.

The Secret Wars Omnibus is being reprinted from 20-year-old film that will be heavily recolored and retouched, and has much higher exterior production values than an average hardcover.

Ultimate Hulk Annual
Not sure if I want to pay $4 for these 2, maybe Captain America for the JR Jr art.
Why are the Ultimate Spiderman and Amazing Spiderman annuals listed as #1's -- Ultimate should be #3 and Amazing like #27?

That's not a legitimate excuse for the price of the book.
Especially when we've seen much larger reprints from older material that isn't jacked up like that.
