Okay, so Marvel's been putting out some teaser images with the tag "Who Will Rule" (here (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=230611), here (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=230210), and here (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=230764), thus far) and all signs are pointing to a cosmic event featuring the X-Men's cosmic cast finally interacting with the rest of the universe, possibly in the form of a new Kree/Shi'ar War.

So . . . I'm wondering, before the beans are spilled in San Diego later this week, what do you want to see? Who should write it? Who should draw it? What format should it take (mini-series, crossover, etc.)? What would you like to see happen? What characters, aside from those already shown in the teasers, would you like to see get involved?

I definitely want to see the Guardians take on Vulcan and his Imperial Guard, there are unresolved matters there that need to be addressed. I also think that Havok's team could use the back up to really rough up the Imperial Guard so the Guardians would be the perfect team for this type of situation given that they were built for this.

I'd like for it to be a mini series/crossover and I want to see the Space Knights appear since they almost never have a more prominent role. In the first Annihilation they helped Blastaar out a bit but in the second they were totally run over by the Phalanx so I'd like to see them become established as a respected yet powerful power base in place of the Nova Corps.

It would be cool to see the Scy`ar Tal continue their fight with everyone. I'm not too sure about the creative team but it would be cool if Chris Yost and DnA co-wrote the book with either Andrea Divito coming back or Tom Raney.

To be honest, I really don't care a whole lot. I just want Vulcan dead.

Keep the same team and set-up from the Annihilation events. DnA writing a main book (title = whatever the name of the event is) with 4 tie-in series (Nova, Guardians, Starjammers and one more, maybe bring back Wraith). The Annihilation series have been awesome and well recieved and Marvel shouldn't change a good thing there.

I'd really like to see some kind of Starjammers title (mini or ongoing), although I'd want Corsair to be resurrected and Hepzibah returned to space (and her female skunk appearance; not the strange cat-like appearance she's taken on lately).

Possibly add another cast member or two to the team, and I think a space pirate title would rock.

Oh, and I really, really would love to see the Badoon finally come back to the fore somehow. Seems odd to me that they've been hiding their heads under the sand after all the cosmic upset that has unsettled the other "big" races of the cosmos (Shi'ar, Kree, and Skrulls). The Badoon should be jumping right into that power vacuum with guns blazing.

I'd like it to retcon Vulcan out of existence. He offers nothing of interest yet he's been dragged out for years. UGH.

Pretty sure this is going to be Annihilation 3.
Though perhaps not CALLED Annihilation 3.

But I'm digging it. People were miffed that the Shi'Ar weren't included in the first Annihilation because of the Rise and Fall of the Shi'Ar Empire story that was being told in Uncanny, and now we've had two Annihilation events, the Shi'Ar story has furthered, and now it looks like we're heading towards an interstellar war.

Shi'Ar vs. everyone with Vulcan at the lead.

"Annihilation: Empire" is my guess.

Yes yes yes yes.

The Badoon are badasses. A little warped maybe, but definetly awesome! I would love to see them involved in the Marvel Cosmic scene.

The Annihilation series have been awesome and well recieved and Marvel shouldn't change a good thing there.I'm tempted to hope that they not stick with the Annihilation format, actually. It worked for the first event, but not the second. The structure should adapt to meet the needs of the story, not the other way around.

That said, if they do use the same format, an interesting idea might be one mini-series for each faction. It'd be cool to see the conflict from all sides. One for Vulcan and the Shi'ar, one for Ronan and the Kree, one for the Starjammers (a Shi'ar rebel faction, but not necessarily pro-Kree), and one for the Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova (Kree allies, but more concerned with defusing the conflict than conquering anyone). Or whatever the factions end up being. If this is what we think it is, there're plenty of potential players.

Absolutely, Divito on art. He's currently doing another HoM mini. His stuff is fabulous. DnA writing. I'd like it to touch the Earth a bit to. And it must have Galactus and Silver Surfer. With maybe a different role for the Big G other than planet eater? If we can't get Divito, than I'll go for Alves.

There are two things that have always bugged me about the Shi'ar.

One, the X-Office's near-exclusive hold over them. This has really been the biggest factor, IMO, contributing to making the Shi'ar seem rather pointless/non-important in the cosmic scheme of the Marvel Universe. If they were to be freed of the X-Office, I think they could finally have some decent stories written about them and their vast interstellar empire that could really make for some cool cosmic comics.

The second is related to the first, in that it seems to me that there is basically one Shi'ar story that gets replayed time and time again- Lilandra vs. Deathbird. Sure, the players occasionally get shifted around (Daken or Vulcan rather than Deathbird), but it's basically always the same tired old tyrannical regime vs. benevolent regime. There have been a couple of interesting stories, now and again, where Lilandra's benevolence has had to veer into grey areas, but they are few and far between.

If something could be done to rectify these two situations- remove control from the X-guys and finally pick a side in the Deathbird/Lilandra struggle and stick with it- I think the Shi'ar could have a place in the cosmic side of things.

Well, the Shi'Ar WERE created in the X-Office, hence their use there.

My favorite Shi'Ar storyline was the Warskrull story in Uncanny 274-277. That wasn't Lilandra vs. Deathbird, at least not directly. Deathbird let Lilandra have the Throne after the Skrulls attempted to take over the monarchy.

But by no means has it been exclusive to the X-office.

Operation Galactic Storm for instance. Shi'Ar vs. Kree in a huge Avengers crossover.

Maximum Security involved the Shi'Ar, specifically because Lilandra was the one who gave the final vote to make Earth a prison for interstellar criminals.

And they would have been included in Annihilation had Brubaker not begun his story. He required use of the Shi'Ar, so they weren't included elsewhere.

The thought of a recently discovered Black Bolt going on a massive galactic revenge-fest against aliens would be delightful.

Man, with all these groups what could start it or could it be about? Maybe the Shi'ar take it upon themselves to cleanse the galaxy or be the Galactic Police Force (Nato) or something? Man, when is this announcement coming!?

Anyway...whatever happens in this new event, I just hope they keep the Phoenix and the M'Kraan Crystal OUT of it!
