Some talk with DDM in the Psylocke thread got me thinking about all the What Ifs... poll coming.
edit: tried to keep it to the bigger and better liked stuff... sorry if I left out your faves.

Aaron and Garney are returning to Wolverine after Old Man Logan, so they do get to do their thing. Plus we get a mini from Aaron during Old Man Logan.

I'd have loved for Morrison to continue, but we really got a complete run from him. Joe Casey left just as he was finally finding a groove, so him.

Kyle, Yost and Young. I'd prefer they stay on New X-Men while writing X-Force as well. At least it would have been a better story than what we're getting in Young X-Men. BARF!!!

Hmmm.
I think it would've been best if Casey got to continue onward (zomg no Austen) with UXM. He had so many great plans and they ended up coming to nothing. CC continuing on XXM would've saved us a lot of hassle too - no NEX or UXM abortion.
Morrison/Quitely/Jiminez -> Whedon/Cassaday (on time) -> Ellis for NXM
Casey/Churchill -> Casey/Bachalo -> Brubaker & Fraction/Choi/Dodson for UXM
CC/Kordey for XXM, ending when UXM hits #500 at which point CC retires.
Rucka -> Millar -> Garney for Wolverine
PAD/Raimondi/Sook for X-Factor forever
not CC for Exiles, forever
That would've been the best choice for the X-franchise, IMO.

I picked Claremont & Bachalo's Uncanny. Coming off End of Greys the title really had a great energy and excitement it'd been missing since the Seagle/Kelly pairing and it seemed like Claremont had finally hit his groove again, thanks in large part to the awesome accord he found in Chris Bachalo. The cast was great, the characterization was spot on, the look was amazing, their promised upcoming space opera sounded epic... it was the first time Uncanny was genuinely exciting in a long while and I felt it was actually the best X-men title going at the time (which arguably hadn't been the case since CC originally left back in 1991).
And then it all came crashing down. Bachalo was unceremoniously moved to start preliminary work on Carey's X-Men (which also rocked hard btw), Claremont at the last second had to can the space trip in favor of Brubaker's (unfortunate) version, he himself was getting eXiled (and taking poor Betsy with him) and at the very last moment he fell ill, leaving Bedard to mangle his final arc and ultimate pay off he'd been planning from the run's start. Really a sad end to what could've been a real comeback I thought, both for Claremont and for Uncanny.

Kyle, Yost, & Young for New X-Men and Carey & Bachalo for X-Men.

Morrision was going to do another year at one point. Would have been interesting to see what he would have done.
I love Joe Casey. But at that point in time it was more important that he got his life straightened out. Plus he said that he felt a bit constrained by having to follow Grant's manifesto.
Still. I think he should be given another shot. He did have some very cool ideas, so I would love to see what he would do if he was fully in charge.

Carey and Bachalo, that was a hot team. X-Men needs more Bachalo these days.

He wanted to have Warren run for public office. That's all I remember him mentioning, but that's enough for me. His Angel was the best ever.

Isn't "NuMarvel?" used to describe the Jemas era? That's how I see it anyway. I think more along the lines of the Jemas "stories before continuity, black leather, independent comic-style" Marvel books of the early 2000's. There's definitely been a change since then. What does this post think it means?

Cable & Deadpool for the win!
(Followed by Claremont and Bachalo. Shut up, I like it.)

Kyle and Yost NXM... I miss it a lot.
PAD, Raimondi and Sook would have been my second choice. I love X-Factor so much, but the art just isn't hitting the right notes for the series right now.

PAD and Sook! OMG!
That run should've been longer and more complete. Sook's art style complimented PAD's writing and cast perfectly. In his--what?--1 and a half issues, he drew the definitive Layla Miller, Rictor, and Monet IMO.
I also really liked Casey's ideas and dialogue. I definitely would've loved to see him continue on with the title or perhaps do an X-Corporation book.
AND OF COURSE Carey and Bachalo and Ramos. It was pure and simple fun and something I looked forward to with very little complaints. If it wasn't my ideal cast, fun dialogue, or thrilling plots I still would've picked it up for my favorite artist (Bachalo).
Claremont and Bachalo also had an interesting chemistry. I'm morbidly curious as to what else they would've done together.
Also, if Yost and Skottie Young continued the lighter direction of QFM I definitely would've been enamoured.
All it needed was Wind Dancer.
And Icarus for Josef.
Seriously, at that point the only thing I really didn't like was Surge and Hellion's portrayals (and well...I just don't like Rockslide), but overall it was forming into an ideal teen team leading up to the return of Sofia Mantega.

I never minded how they portrayed Hellion, he grew up a lot in their run. My only issue with it was there was no payoff, he gets confused, skewered, and then abandoned... I'm hoping if and when he shows back up (crossing my fingers X-Men: Secret Invasion reappearance myself) that he ends up in a book.
Surge was a bit grating, but there was a reason for it... she couldn't handle the leadership role. It suited the story to have her break down. Rockslide is awesome...
oh, and Sofia is still a New Warrior and human.
Jay is still decaying.

I only gave poll options where there were complete staff or book turnovers, because that's all I'd really considered. I'd have liked to see Copiel take over for Davis as intended though, as much as I liked Bachalo.

Warren would forge his birth certificate and run for office.
X-Corps/corporation would've been followed up on so that it wasn't going to be a few stray issues in Morrison's run. Think of it more along the lines of Wildcats 3.0 with Warren being pivotal.
The Vanisher was going to be set up as a huge villain. The drug thing and mutants as commodities was also going to be followed up on. I think the Automatic Kefka comic that Casey wrote sort of shows some of the drug related stuff he was thinking about.
Kurt was going to have some sort of internal crisis, I think, but his priesthood was going to remain intact. It likely would've involved the evil priesthood Casey wrote of (which basically laid the seeds for the Purifiers, really).
I think we were going to get progression from Stacy and Warren, also.
It was going to be quite edgy and, this part is purely speculation, but I think there would've been a factional split as Morrison intended to eventually return his book to the retro costumes to an extent whereas Casey was going to move them even more out of costume. That's just speculation though.

Yeah some of that ties into what I heard. Not so much individual plots per se, but more the whole Wildcats 3.0 vibe. To be honest everything i've heard about Joe's run has come from the internet. Kinda hard to seperate fact from fan fiction. Still you can see some of those things you mentioned coming out in his run.
His dream team was pretty cool as well. Jean, Wolverine, Mystique, Quicksilver, Nightcrawler, Magma & Chamber.

I'm forced to choose "other."
Yes to Claremont's X-Treme, but no to Kordey.
Yes to Kyle & Yost's New X-Men, but no to Young.
Yes to Carey's X-Men, but no to Bachalo and Ramos.

Hellion feels very generic right now. I thought he was a lot more enjoyable before he became a mopey dopey beeyotch while his peers were getting some unique and fun voices during the latter course of Yost/Kyle's run.
Sofia, despite all my complaints, is at least in an ongoing title SO YOU CAN KICK ROCKS, MISTER.

I'm gonna agree that Hellion was more enjoyable when he was being arrogant... and I complained when he took that beating from David without sending him through the roof. But the only times during C&C's run where I didn't like how he was portrayed were when he took a scolding from Surge without retaliation, and the before mentioned ass kicking by Prodigy. Other than those two incidents, I thought he was in character. I was happy to see him get angry in his Divided We Stand story... I just want to see where that leads. Again, Hellion in X-Men: Secret Invasion please Mr. Carey!
As for Sofia... I don't know which one is worse: a couple of months off panel, or being a main character in a terrible ongoing...
