I like Dazz. I own her entire series, with the Beauty and the Beast mini, as well as the GN Dazz the movie. In fact, I think I should re-read her book. My favorite was just after Lois left the picture. Those fabulous Seinkiewicz covers were divine!

I like Dazzler and I didn't before I came to this forum. My only direct exposure to her was Inferno and other outback stories in which she came off as pretty annoying. Longshot and her just seemed entirely supercilious and hokey. After coming to this forum, my tastes have diversified, I've tried a huge range of different comics and, thanks to the incredible amount of acclaim from this forum, Dazzler's series was among them and after reading it I saw how different she was from what I thought. Soooo much of the Dazzler series was crap (sorry Ben but some of those issues are lollll) but it showed a character with a lot of verve and promise.

So I like Dazzler. She's cool. However I wouldn't say I like most of the stories she's been in. I'm not a fan though because when I think of the word 'fan' I think of someone like Ben or the guys who praise our Lord Magneto while writing essays about him. I don't do that kind of thing so I'm not a fan but I do think she's cool.

Before I started even "ghosting" on CBR and reading the forums, I had a passing knowledge of Dazzler, and thought she was alright enough. Her time on the "Eve of Destruction" X-Men, and a lot of the Outback Era being her thing. I never really went out of my way to immerse myself in her original series, frightened of it as I might have been due to the sheer might of the disco contained therein.

And alas, Ben, you made me completely submerge myself in the Divasparkle Baptism, and learn every detail that I'd been dodging about Alison Blaire. And for that, I am eternally grateful to you, and proudly can say,

I was a Dazzler fan before it was "popular." lol, well--maybe eventually it'll be popular to like her--but yes! Great character. Can't wait to see what Fraction & Brubaker do with her--I'm a little weary of getting my hopes up after the crap-tactular NEX stories/version, but...I have high hopes. New writers, new design, core book--things will look up!

I wonder if the real threat to the Hellfire Cult will be the Dazzler cult? :eek: :confused: Fans of singers/celebrities can be even more vicious than villains sometimes!

My first exposure to Dazzler was through the old arcade game. I liked her there. I don't have a lot of comics with her in it. I have her first appearance and I have some of the Uncanny X-men Inferno issues with her in it.

I did find several issues from her series at a Flea Market a couple weeks back and I thought for a second about buying them. I've read mixed opinions on them.

I like her powers and I think she has potential. I think it sucks that Claremont mangled her not once but twice in her history.

Still, she keeps on truckin and I'll be interested to see where she's headed under Bru and Matt. :cool:

I used to think it was so odd when people said they didn't like a character because of the character's fans. I mean if I let other people's opinions of characters influence who I liked and who I didn't I wouldn't like either Scott or Jean!

I think Dazz has potential and no matter how she's portrayed it's going to be a huge step up from New Excalibur.

I largely didn't care too much about Dazzler, and I have a distaste for disco (horrible, horrible music). Her fans seem rabid and obsessive. I liked the look for the short-hair punk Dazzler in New Excalibur... and Pete Wisdom did too.

And that's the point of the X-Character weeks. There's going to be a Sage one coming up next week as well, so I suggest you get over it.

I also think you've missed just how much satire goes on with all of this Dazzler stuff but hey, if you want to be bitter and make lame Dizz jokes then go ahead. You're only expending effort to achieve relatively nothing but annoy a couple of people and you're not even doing it very effectively.
