San Fran will only tolerate the x-men until it get what it want and kick them out like they with Joe Montana.

My question is were do you want them to go?

I would prefer New Orleans.

I don't see that SF is getting what they want from the X-Men. I mean, they don't seem to have any ulterior motive. They're just welcoming diversity. Honestly, the X-Men have always seemed more in tune with SF than any other US city, imo. I hope they stay in SF for a very, very long time.

As for New Orleans (ah, my home base), it's got too much with the Thieves' and Assassins' Guilds and Gambit, not to mention the vamps and zombies. It's got enough problems without mutants, and very little about it seems to go with mutants. The city is already divided enough without mutants.

Of course, unless the X-Men want to help us rebuild. Then I'm all for it. Hammers to the left, guys; shovels to the right. You too, Emma. Put some back in it!

Alliterative?
Alliteration is the repetition of a leading consonant sound in a phrase. A common example in English is "Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Pepper".

And LA doesn't have it's own super team (except for the Runaways, but I don't think the city likes them) there's the Order but that's the super team dedicated to all of California.

I hope they stay in San Fran for awhile, but I wouldn't mind seeing X-Force breaking away and setting up shop somewhere else. Perhaps Colorado in Angel's aerie or something.

And Angel could easily pull double duty as Archangel in X-Force and Angel in Uncanny because with the metal wings he can fly at the speed of sound (or close to it) I believe. Of course, that makes it a lot tougher for Wolverine to pull his triple duty on the X-men, X-Force and the New Avengers, but I've never been opposed to pulling him off of one of those teams (Uncanny would be my preference, but if Cable came back and took over X-Force I wouldn't be all that disappointed either).

At some point down the line, I'd really like to see X-Force forced to pull off entirely. I think all of them doing double duty as X-Men is interesting, but it's not a setup that can last indefinitely imo.

You visited what? One tiny town out in the middle of nowhere? Try going to Dallas, Houston, or another major city in Texas. Where the majority of the populus is of a different race.

But... most of your post seem to have something to do with race.

I'm from Texas, and it's probably one of the most conservative states in the nation. So no, I don't think the X-Men would fit in very well, especially after a place like San Francisco.

I love how a thread about where the X-men should head after San Fran (which really...they've only JUST relocated there) has since turned into a thread about heroes not helping with Katrina and now "how racist Texas is"!

although if we're going to throw out "I wants"--I want the X-men to be relocated to South Cacilacky. Not because it would make sense or be a great backdrop for stories--just...because. I mean, srsly, the only times I've ever read SC even mentioned in a Marvel comic were Ult X-Men #41 & one of the MZ vs AoD issues. Take the treatment of Cannonball & Husk recently by "Everybody Loves Carey" and I can only arrive at one conclusion---Marvel hates the South/southerners! Move the X-Men there and prove me wrong! I demand it! This is unacceptable for a southern male in the US to have to read comics without characters operating out of the Southeastern US of A.

Every state still has race problems, so your little jab at Texas just looks stupid now. In fact every nation on this planet still has race problems. Some hate blacks. Some hate whites. Some hate asians. Some hate mexicans. Some hate ... well you get the point and if you don't then may whatever God (if not God, Darwin), have mercy on you.

How can my Jab at Texas be silly. You just stated what I said. I just narrowed my focus to Texas. I could have mentioned every state in the union.

I chose Jasper Texas because they are now infamous because a few citizens dragged a chained minority through the streets by Truck. ripping him apart.

i think this is the status quo for a while...marvel, as far as i'm concerned, screwed up the last couple of years when it came to the x-books....

san francisco will give them a new perspective and a lighter look and will shine the spotlight on scott summer as head of the group...

which is about time...

which is about time...I just don't see it lasting long since it's completely against the themes of prejudice and racism and it seems like this book is going to be a lot less angst-ridden which is completely against how X-men books have been for a while.

in that regard i agree to a point...

house of m and decimation created a situation where there are less than 200 mutants in the world -- and that altered the theme of the books...

gotta love them marvel editors...

but yeah i see them returning to their roots -- new york and the mansion and the school -- but only if marvel decides to increase the mutant population again...

give them the next year or two...they may even decide to keep the san francisco locale...
