Not sure if this is the right area to post, but here goes:
I remember reading this one-shot comic in the mid 90's about a journalist who sees how things have gone wrong with all who should have become heroes. Things like the FF being killed in space. The journalist is infected with something given to him by Peter Parker. Parker was bitten by a spider, but instead of being turned into Spiderman he infects others by touch.
It's been driving me nuts because I can't remember the title of this comic. I know the information isn't much, but if anyone remembers this title please let me know.

Not sure... the closest thing I can remember is a four book mini called Marvels (1993?). Alex Ross did the art and it was from a journalist's point of view, but it was about how scary/weird it was from a humans perspective to see these superheros and not understand what was going on. Such as seeing the Human Torch go by you... the Silver Surfer... we get to understand the characters because we read the comics, but to a human living through these experiences, the appearance of such beings would be very scary and confusing.

That's the only thing coming to mind right now...

Ruins by Ellis? Kind of the evil mirror version of Marvels...was comprised of 2 issues...read it awhile ago, so I'm not positive, but from what I remember that sounds about right.
