Speaking of hopeful adaptations, anyone heard anymore news on the progress of this? Last I heard the script was a mess and there was no movement. Boy, I'd love to see this done this right way. In opposition to Watchmen, they could focus more on the story and less on the overall market, keeping the budget significantly lower so there's more artistic freedom, at least that's in my ideal world :)

Thoughts?

Last I heard, there was no film, but a television series on HBO. which is considerably better than a film IMO. But it's been a while, and nothing much is happening.

I don't think it would play well as a film. This is one of those things that is magic because it's a comic.

Yep--it doesn't exist. Preacher was being created as a TV show, not a movie. :)

But to answer your question: It seems to be in permanent limbo...which is to say, it's off the table.
