My comic store just closed...

My comic book store just closed down and I have nothing left to read. I have a Barnes and Noble though so I can get trades. So I am wondering if anyone can recommend any books.

I just got really into comics around civil war and I really like the Avengers and Have always liked the Punisher. Those are ones I followed heavily on the marvel side.

As for DC...I have to admit I don’t read anything but I am interested in getting to know it better. I have Watchmen and two trades of Y the Last Man. I know they aren’t you know in continuity but I like them.

I was thinking of getting into Hellboy. I had no clue what it was about till my friend showed me the movie.

Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance if you help.

A good story always beats continuity, especially at DC. Keep getting Y the Last Man trades if you liked the first two. The final issues were especially amazing. Also get Kingdom Come, New Frontier, and maybe the first JSA trade to see if you will like that.

Hellboy is excellent, and most of it has already been collected in a series of trades. If you liked the first movie, try The Conqueror Worm tpb. There is a related series called BPRD that you might also enjoy.

I can't help you with Marvel pics. I was a fan for a long time, but I'm just not happy with most of their current output. If you like Avengers right now, you might not like my picks.
