One could look at "The Joker" (as well as his use of the Joker from a deck of playing cards) that he is the Fool/Court Jester of a King's (Batman/Dent/Gordon) court.

The sometimes role of the Jester was too keep the King occupied during tedious times at Court when there was no activity going on.

Also.. and this comes from Wikipedia
In King Lear there are about 2.5 honest characters.

One of them is the fool.

I knew when I moved here that the weather would be the hard part. So I guess I shouldn't whine. But I've never ever liked summer even in a rainforest so it's just bleh. Mainly the way it zaps all energy. I have plenty of energy when it's cold out.

I'm actually on Gus's computer. His apartment doesn't get direct sunlight like mine and stays quite a bit cooler.

Umm... both Jokers and Scarecrows have heads and faces... crap. It's more using Ghul that's kinda weird. I guess they just wanted any villian that wasn't in a movie yet to start things out and saw "hey, ancient eco-terrorist who wants to reshape the world... that's thematically like Batman's quest."

Quite a story, huh? Especially the bit about cutting the head off.

I just read both yesterday and today's papers and there were stories in both. Don't have the stomach to find more details online. But they did say something in the second story about even holding the head up with one hand and continuing to slash at the body with the other. On the other hand, that's after they said all the other passengers fled, so I'm not sure who actually witnessed that part. Maybe hysterical dramatic effect.

Sorry to disappoint you Lena, nothing untoward in the post.

Quite honestly, when or if the time comes when I get the green light from this woman...I'm not going to be talking about it online.

I don't play like that. It's my business and hers not the Net's.

As shocking as it may seem, for some reason I really like this woman and while we are both going to be taking things slow as she regains trust after a divorce and I learn to be more open, I don't plan on sharing all the details as we go along.

Must it take a life for hatful eyes
To glisten once again
Five hundred years like Gelignite
Have blown us all to hell
What savior rests while on his cross we die
Forgotten freedom burns
Has the Shepard led his lambs astray
to the bigot and the gun

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

I watch and stare as Rosin`s eyes
Turn a darker shade of red
And the bullet with this sniper lie
In their bloody gutless cell
Must we starve on crumbs from long ago
Through these bars of men made steel
Is it a great or little thing we fought
Knelt the conscience blessed to kill

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

Ah, but maybe it`s the way you were taught
Or maybe it`s the way we fought
But a smile never grins without tears to begin
For each kiss is a cry we all lost
Though there is nothing left to gain
But for the banshee that stole the grave
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

I sit in and dwell on faces past
Like memories seem to fade
No colour left but black and white
And soon will all turn grey
But may these shadows rise to walk again
With lessons truly learnt
When the blossom flowers in each our hearts
Shall beat a new found flame

Must it take a life for hateful eyes
To glisten once again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin' drunken lullabies

See, the thing about the new iPhone is that it's fucking expensive especially with the carrier lock. Sure, Apple cut the price on the front end, but they increased monthly service by $10. In the long run that damn phone is going to cost you.

I hate when phone companies do that here in the US. I'd rather pay more for the machine and have a smaller monthly bill, because the one phone I buy will probably last me 5 years.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's perfect, but I enjoyed myself.

In other news, I've decided that the quality of a movie is inversely proportional to the number of bars of the theme from "Requiem For A Dream" in the trailer.

So David Mack is on Coast to Coast (http://www.coasttocoastam.com/) tonight. It's just for the first hour and they're only a few minutes into the interview in this time zone, but so far it's been illuminating.

Yes, after posting that, I checked and there were several hours in the middle there.

But I was playing catch-up, and it only seemed like a few minutes to me.

Tomorrow we're having a Buffy marathon.

Goal is to agree on the best episode from each season and watch those 7 episodes.

Possibly skipping Once More With Feeling, as we just watched it at Comic-Con.

She knows I know who she is. I was offering more suggestions, trying to figure out something he might have read. Although once he started to figure out, what with her doing a couple of high profile books like the Green Arrow/Black Canary wedding, he started begging her to pencil She-Hulk.

That would get me to buy She-Hulk again. I enjoy the character but the book doesn't work for me right now.

Weird.

I just got here.

Maybe she has a moron early warning system?

So, Hellboy II won't be setting the world on fire, but it's still a fun time at the movies. It's visually spectacular, it middles quite well, and while it's not remotely like the Hellboy comics, that's all right because there's room in the world for both.

That's unusually reasonable. Are you sure you're a comics fan?
