View Full Version : Who Should Be The Next Global Guardian?

I felt that the current Global Guardians were the lamest DC superteam in recent because, of the seven members, only one of them (Freedom Beast) was really interesting. I felt that they need to add some interesting characters to the roster ASAP!

Here is some of my picks:
Hardline (The original GG had a Native American in their roster [Owlwoman], & I felt that three of the four 'JLDetroit' add-ons [Gypsy, Vixen, & Hardline's older brother Vibe] did not really fit the Justice League & should have been better Global Guardians applicants. But Vibe was killed near the end of the run of the pre-Giffin/DeMatteis JLA. I felt Hardline could add more potential to the group!)
Cosmo, The Phantom of Disguise (Remember this guy from the first few years of Detective Comics? He was British!)
The Gay Ghost/Grim Ghost (This guy is on the power levels of The Spectre, & he is sorta-British. You can call him simply 'The Ghost'!)
Tempest (Garth. He could add credibility & class to the team!)
Manitou Raven (Good character!)
Dr. Mist (I felt adding two former GG's to the list because they are great!)
Wild Huntsman (I think this guy is still alive somewhere!)
Extrano (He could make a great Global Guardian!)
Scooter (He was one of DC's attempts to cash in on Archie in the 1960s, he is British, & his early issues were drawn somewhat realistically!)

What more do you ask for?

Extrano can be the one brutally killed in #1 to show how serious the threat is.

2 americans.. and 2 brits ... kinda defeats the purpose of the team doesn't it?
the idea of Global Guardians was to have ONE from each nation..

Dr. Mist is a good choice, but he was a leader (sort of) when he lead the much lamented (to me at least) Primal Force.

I still like Jack O' Lantern. Liam McHugh is a cool character.
I've always liked Crimson Fox too

The big problem with The Global Guardians is they've always come across as sorta The Eurovision Song Contest with super-powers...

That's an even worse idea than bringing him back in the first place...

Err... honestly?

An actual decent team line up... sorry.

Whoever it is, they should fly by blowing flaming snot out of their nose (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=219032&highlight=flaming+snot) like Fire originally did.

whoever does a global guardian series should fix fire's whole she did hits for the brazilian govt before she was even in the justice league international. and bring back snot fire powers to fire! now that i think of it i'm suprised that giffen and dematis didn't use that (if they did i missed it).

Then they need somebody with wind powers. Always very windy on that Eurovision stage.

Do the Global Guardians even exist any more? I thought they got folded into/replaced by the Ultramarines, and then shipped off to the Baby Universe of Qwewq.

They were prominent in an arc of Green Lantern about a year or so ago.

It's always the gay one that gets killed off!!!!

If the Global Guardians were ever brought back as a team book, I could see Fire and Ice being added to the team, just because of the "star power" they would bring. You can also throw in Rocket Red because someone needs to get their armor destroyed every issue. Maybe Geo-Force as well. Oh, and Godiva, just because hair control is cool.

I like this idea for the team!

They were prominent in an arc of Green Lantern about a year or so ago.

After that arc & the guest shot in 'Wonder Girl', they were relegated to minor roles again! I did find Freedom Beast cool, though.

DC should try at least a Global Guardians one-shot to gauge the market!

Good news & bad news about the Global Guardians:

Good news: The Wild Huntsman will appear in Red Robin #3!

Bad News: Freedom Beast was killed in Cry or Justice #1! That was an insult, because he was the best character on the current GG!

The GG need to add some real talent!

Thanks to Cry For Justice, the Global Guardians are at their lowest ebb in their entire history!

Will there be a new Global Guardians team at the aftermath of Cry For Justice?
