RADICAL ANNOUNCES 2ND PRINTING OF HERCULES #1 AND CALIBER #1

July 8th, 2008, LOS ANGELES – Released on April 30th to critical acclaim, Hercules: The Thracian Wars #1 and Caliber: First Canon of Justice #1 has been a big hit with both retailers and fans. Despite efforts to satisfy the public with extra copies of Hercules and Caliber printed in case of a sellout, the demand for more continues to grow. Because of this, Radical Publishing is pleased to announce that a 2nd printing is on the way for both titles.

Barry Levine, Radical Publishing President and Publisher notes, “In the past week while promoting our upcoming issue #3’s of Hercules and Caliber, we have received numerous calls and emails from both fans and retailers alike, wondering if we are going to do a second print on our issue #1’s. We’ve heard the message loud and clear and are pleased to say that a second printing of both titles are underway. Being a new publisher, I’m sure many retailers didn’t expect the kind of sales our titles would produce. As a result, a lot of people under ordered and were unable to place reorders due to the overwhelming demand. These limited quantity second printings will enable fans who have missed out the first time around to see how both these epics began.”

Both Hercules: The Thracian Wars #1 2nd print and Caliber: First Canon of Justice #1 2nd print will retail for $2.99 and are available to order from Diamond Comics Distributors. Each cover has its own Diamond order code to provide retailers the choice in the amounts of each cover variant they want. This will be an option for all books published by Radical, starting in the August 2008 issue of Diamond’s Previews.

I didn't get it, but checked out my first Hercules comic today, #3 I think. It looked fantastic, had the feel of the early Dark Horse Conan books but for personal reasons, I skipped. It's something I would definitely recommend to others to check out though.

...but for personal reasons, I skipped.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but: what are the personal reasons that you skipped on picking it up?

Anyone have any thoughts on Caliber?

I'm a bit biased but I think the series is great.

On a more serious note, if you haven't check out either series, you definitely should. Sam Sarkar and Steve Moore have written two excellent stories and the artwork by both Garrie Gastonny for Caliber and Admira Wijaya for Hercules is phenomenal.

Caliber looks interesting. If the art is half as good inside as it is on the cover I will have to pick it up. It seems like an interesting concept and should be fun if I can find it locally.

no prob. just maybe my mood at the time. It's not something I would be inclined to buy (about a mythological character used in so many ways in comics) and though the art was great, I, nowadays, look for something, more out of the ordinary.
