All two hundred and twenty-one people who voted for Captain Haddock to be lower on that list should go !@#$ themselves. And the people who voted for Pekar to be lower.
Though, any list that has Deadpool on it anywhere is a pretty sweet list. I guess the 240 people that voted him higher make up for the schmucks that can't appreciate Tintin.

I don't usually pay much attention to these lists but at least they got this right:
Superman - #1
Batman - #2
The Confessor

I couldn't agree with you more! Those 221 people are obviously all Troglodytes! Barbarians! Pirates! Filibusters!! Sycophants!! Duck-billed platypuses!! Ruffians!! Freshwater swabs!!!
As for the poll, although I'm a hardcore Spider-Man fan and a bit of a Marvel Zombie all round, somehow it seems right and proper for Superman to be at No. 1. After all, he's been around the longest and let's face it, his first appearance in Action Comics #1 basically provided the template for the "Superhero" as we've known it ever since.
But WTF is going on with Spidey only being at #5?!! That's criminal, he should've been at #2 for sure...and what's with Wolverine being above him?!? Wolverine a better character than Peter Parker/Spider-Man? I think not!
Still, it was good to see J. Jonah Jameson at #46, Venom at #33, Dr. Doom #25 and The Thing at #10,
Also nice to see some British created characters like Johnny Alpha at #27, Halo Jones at #18, Judge Dredd at #7 and Dan Dare's nemisis The Mekon at #39.
But what about Dan Dare himself? He should've definitely made that list somewhere; he's a British comic book icon! And why no characters from Astro City (especially The Confessor  ) in that poll?

Yeah, but Wolverine beat Spider-Man?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? Granted, they got the first two right, but that is easy. Some of the other stuff was whack.
Does Spawn even count as a character--he is like a mood more than person with varied emotions. his costume is if Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, and Batman all vomited in the same spot. His backstory ludicrous and unengaging.

I expected Wolverine to be number 1 before I checked.
I'll never understand the infatuation with that horrid, horrid character.
Did anyone else see that the article said Superman has been around for 80 years while still givint the date he was created.
Clearly this article wasn't meant to be printed until 2018
That list is so very, very wrong.
Constantine better than Spider-Man?
Yeah, tell me another....

I thought that was great. Number three's a bit much, but I'm glad that a whole bunch of non-supers and non-superhero comic characters made it so high on the list. Spider Jerusalem was twelve, I think, which is awesome. Though Pekar could've been a lot higher on that list.

batman needs number 1 spot.
though superman is the ulitmate sci fi hero.

Eh, I'unno about that. His origin's rooted in science fiction, but overall, up until the Silver Age, he was really just another pulp action hero fighting street level mooks and defending the lower class. Silver Age Green Lantern's a much more rooted sci-fi hero.
