just a fun excersize
if and when he becomes present, stephen colbert decides to have his own personal team, separate from preexisting groups and because of a grudge involving mayor JJJ :D
who would he pick? Whoe would he get?

We know he likes Iron Man, so there's him.
He would want Cap. Whether or not Bucky (as I still think of him) would want to work for him is the question.
He might take Wonder Man. It would depend on how well Simon's movie career was going. The free market would decide it, just like it did with his opinion of Al Gore and global warming.
That's all I've got for now.

If Bucky turned down President Colbert, he would not be worthy of the name. Stephen would simply appoint a new Captain America, preferably himself. :p
I fear Beast would not long survive if the president found out he once looked kinda like a bear.

I think he'd group all the X-women together and personally use him as his own slave/bondage team.....
It's clear by his book (inside cover) that he (or at least Joe Q) sees himself as the Hulk, so it looks like he'll be running the Avengers himself.

He would probably recruit Luke Cage. You know, to be his black friend.

I know this is a marvel thread but in the episode where he danced against the asian movie star Rain in a game of dance dance revolution he has on red pants, black dress shirt and big sunglasses. I saw him and said to myself, "OMG he's a spot on Plastic Man!"
