Who's going?
I'm thinking the usual Friday breakfast at Denny's.

...unless someone has another location in mind?
And last year there was a pre-Preview Night Lunch on Wednesday (wow, that sounds confusing).
What's the plan? Who's going?

I get into San Diego sometime on the Thursday, depending on how late the Greyhounds are running from Anaheim. So totally count me in for Friday breakfast.

Depends on the movie, and on the day.
What time for dinner, what time for breakfast works for everyone?
I think breakfast was at... 8? 9? Don't remember for sure anymore.
Ben Morgan

Dark Knight will be in theaters around then, I thought we could see that. I was thinking we all could go to dinner after the con, then hit the movies. Any day is fine for me.

The exhibit hall opens at 9:30 every day this year, so a 9 am breakfast would be too late to eat, enjoy and get back.
8 would probably be okay, and the usual Denny's.
As for Wednesday, like I said, I'll be hanging out before registration opens at the Tin Fish across the street, if others want to do the same. It was fun last year.
Evening stuff, I'm not so sure about. I may have various social committments.

I'm rolling into town Thursday night, so I will definitely be at breakfast Friday AM. Our (incredibly inexpensive) motel is in the North Park area, so I'll probably drive over to Old Town to park and take the trolley downtown. I was in San Diego yesterday (my daughter lives a block from the convention center), and the traffic & parking were awful without a convention, so there's no way I'll take a car into that mess.
See you at Denny's!

YABSers, if any of you wanted to join any of the other CBR activities, feel free! They're not just intended for posters on the Community forum. A few X-Posters will be there, and I'll be representing the Avengers forum and the Artist and Writers Showcase
Wed. night is the Preview Night Dinner at Horton's Plaza.
Thursday night some of us are going to Video Games Live; others may plan to go to dinner and a movie.
Saturday afternoon is the Gas Lamp Pub Crawl.
Sunday night is dinner and karaoke at Henry's Pub.

I'm going to try and get to San Diego as early as I can, so maybe around noon and thereafter. Registration opens at 2:30 this year!
But show up when you can. Tin Fish is nice and open outside, so I don't think they care if people sit around hanging out (unless they actually have a line of diners waiting for places to sit). They didn't seem to care last year, when we held court.
Look for my hat! I expect I'll work on a manuscript until someone shows up. (I like the side of the place nearer the tracks than the street.)

If you check in here online sometime today, yeah, I'll come by (I was going to do that anyway!). Not that it's too difficult to find this particular Denny's.
And yet none of you people managed to make up here for the Emerald City Comicon, no your were all way to busy for that.

I stopped by Colleen Doran's stand in the Image booth every so often, bought some books from her. And an original piece of art -- I resisted about 2 days, but then kept fearing that someone else would buy it, so I finally gave in.
In this picture, she's signing someone's copy of the deluxe hardcover edition of the Tori Amos Comic Book Tatoo -- with gilded edges. The thing weighs a honking ton, but people were snatching them up as soon as they were in sight.

Random ComicCon moment #1:
So, there I was in the DC booth on Saturday, chatting with Batman editor Mike Marts. Just conversation, since I'd already had one really good chat with him earlier in the con. And this guy comes up to Mike and asks if Dan DiDio is in the booth. I'm thinking to myself "I should know who this is. I've seen him on a panel at some time." But I sometimes have a problem getting names to stick to faces I don't see very often.
Meanwhile, Mike is explaining to him that Dan is in the company suite doing meetings, and gives him directions how to get there (secret map and handshake included - -- not that I was getting it, though. ) Then Mike, like a guy with great manners, goes, "Jim, this is Sarah Beach. Sarah, Jim Starlin." We shook hands.
Oh, duh. Off Mr. Starlin went, while my brain was scrambling.
I just thought it was really nice of Mike to make that intro as if I were an established peer - instead of someone whose only current claim to fame is as a letter-hack several years ago. Not that I expect Mr. Starlin to remember me in the midst of all the sensory overload of the Exhibit Hall and the DC booth.
But it was a nice moment.
