I'm currently missing the last 4 issues and was wondering if it was worth going back and picking these issues up.
Did it go out on a whimper or a bang?

More of a plopping/sucking sound.
In the end, mainly they became an extension of the Iron Man franchise, so that made it even lamer. Their "big bad" was Ezekiel Stane, son of Obadiah Stane, who killed a bunch of them pretty much just for jollies, and to get under Tony Stark's skin.
Really, I wouldn't bother picking them up. They weren't very coherent.

Yeah, it basically just died at the end. A letdown because it was one of the post-Civil War titles that I was actually initially excited about.

The loss of Kitson really hurt the last couple of issues (he did some breakdowns, but not full pencils). That said, I thought the series ended as well as it could've, all things considered.
If you've read the first six issues and liked them, it couldn't hurt to finish out the series.

Agreed. I don't see how the ending was so bad to some. It seemed like it ended quite well. Probably won't see any of those characters ever again though.
I'm sure though since it's a cancelled series that you could find the last 4 issues quite cheap.

Well at least The Order appear in Eternals #2 beautifully rendered by Acuna.

People are posting to much about the last issue, which was rubbish. The Namor issue was just okay for me, but others seemed to like it, it was just broke up the frantic pacing of the. Issues 8 and 9 got back into the swing of the series and actually proved to be two of the best issues of the run. Man from Shadow's origin was refreshing and orginal and the parts with the two memebers in the desert where the high points in the series for me. Unfortunately Fraction doesn't blow anything away with the ending it just kind of sets up Iron Man, its more an Avengers West Coast ending then an Avengers Disassembled ending.
