I'm a new fan (not because of the movie, I picked up a graphic novel as I was looking for my Sin City ones) and am interested in reading anything thats on the official time line. So is Hellboy Jr. cannon?

Welcome to the forum, hellboyfan89. :) :)
For me, I don't think of HELLBOY JUNIOR as being canon to the ongoing story of Hellboy and the BPRD.
HB JR is more like twisted alternate-reality goofy fun... there are some awesome stories though.
From emails to the site, readers really tend to love:
"The Devil Don't Smoke" from Hellboy Junior Halloween Special
"Squid of Man" (not a HB JR story) in Hellboy Junior #1
"Hellboy Jr. Gets a Car" in Hellboy Junior #2
and others.
All are collected in the HB JR trade paperback.

Because they are drawn by a certain M. Mignola

Incidentally, did you know posts are required to be at least ten characters? :frown:

hellboyfan89,
Rachel Edidin (who answered your question) is an Assistant Editor at Dark Horse Comics. :)

Yup, she answered my question about the Conqueror Worm and lo' and behold, in the new Hellboy companion, it lists The Conqueror Worm as an Ogdru Hem (It was never explicitly stated as such in the story).
So, she definately knows her stuff.
