Anyone else a big fan of these? Granted that nothing can really replace holding a book in your hands, but I have always found these to be incredible values and a great way to complete a collection (especially the early years). I'm very disappointed that Marvel stopped production of these in favor of their online digital comics. I have collected most of what they have released (Spidey, Hulk, Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer) and am very sad that Thor and Daredevil will never see the light of day.

Yep, I managed to get all of them, except for the Hulk and Iron Man ones, and I have the earlier, non-Silver Surfer FF collection.

The only thing I didn't like about them, were that they missed the Giant-Sized issues from the 1970's, which usually had new stories, important stories, or even endings to stories from the main titles.

But for overall value, I love them.

I was very upset when Marvel pulled the license from GIT Corps, especially with Daredevil and Thor scheduled for later this year. Now we will never get a Defenders or Doctor Strange either.

Of course, Marvel just solicited for the late fall their OWN comics on DVD's, but they are hardly values at only 50 issues a set for about the same in price. But hey, you get Marvel's special comic reader! But they'll most likely be the same files GIT used in theirs.

And it'll be a while before any get to the stage/era of the Giant-size issues, to see, like the B&W Essentials, if those will be included in Marvel's version.

Very disappointed still.
