I figured this could be a compliment to the "What Marvel creative teams didn't live up to the hype?" thread.

Simple question: What creative teams on Marvel titles really delivered on the hype?

Some that I can think of....

Morrison/ Quitely on New X-Men
JMS/ Romita Jr on Amazing Spider-Man
Jenkins/ Buckingham on Peter Parker Spider-Man
Millar/ Dodson/ Cho on Marvel Knights Spider-Man
Waid/ Wieringo on Fantastic Four
Brubaker/ Lark on Daredevil
Brubaker/ Epting on Captain America
Bendis/ Maleev on Daredevil
Garth Ennis on MAX Punisher
Millar/ Hitch on The Ultimates, and The Ultimates 2
Loeb/ Sale on Daredevil: Yellow, and Spider-Man: Blue
Miller/ Romita Jr on Daredevil: The Man Without Fear

For simplicity's sake, I'm not including excellent creative runs which I don't recall receiving tremendous hype (IE- Bendis/ Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man)

What about Whedon/Cassady on Astonishing? I would definitely vote them, Bendis/Meleev, and Waid/Weiringo.

Just to be more specific, what type of hype are we talking about here?

Pre-launch hype? Hype generated during the run? Post writer/artist run hype?

Hype generated during the run doesn't really count because it's often the result of fans liking a book after it's published.

Pre-launch hype.

Hmm, out of that list you posted I don't recall the Bendis/Maleev Daredevil run, Jenkins/Buckingham Peter Parker run, Brubaker/Epting's Captain America getting a whole lot of pre-launch hype. Most if not all of these flew under the radar and people didn't know too much about it until the first issues which were when people noticed how good they were. I'm not sure about the Miller/Romita Jr. Man Without Fear one though since I never read any pre-release hype for that title outside of hearing nowadays that it was a Miller's draft for the DD movie.

Other stuff like the Millar/Dodson/Cho Spider-Man run, Waid/Wieringo FF, Quitely/Morrison New X-Men, JMS/Romita Jr. were pretty well publicized in Wizard though and most of them lived up to the pre-release hype in several instances throughout the books.
