If you don't have a DS by this point, I have to ask what the hold up is. It's really a great system with a number of games worth owning.

I never did play Chrono Trigger on SNES or the PSX port. I'll pick up the DS version

If this is getting a FF-style remake, then cool. If they're going to try and charge me $30-$40 for a straight port of a 13 year old game, then S-E can kiss both sides of my ass

They're apparently remaking the entire SNES line of Dragon Warrior games. I think they're doing it with the Final Fantasys too. a remake of Chrono Trigger is a given, considering it's arguably the best RPG of all time.
If it is just a port though, I'm gonna be mad. I already own a port of Chrono Trigger. Not that I won't still get it, because I'm hopeless, and truely believe they'll make a decent sequel to it one day. But Square enjoys kicking Chrono Trigger's fandom.
Chrono trigger was awesome, but i still own it.
And i don't have a ds, was hoping this was about a sequel or something.

I already own a PSP and I just usually play on my PS3, but we’ll see. If this is a remake and not just a port then I might consider buying one.

I don't even want a remake, really. This is just one of those games I never really understood the hype about.

Awesome news! I don't think I ever had the chance to finish Chrono Trigger when I had a SNES. Now I'll get the chance!

A relatively good story, likable cast of characters, time travel fun, good design work and some gameplay elements that really hadn't been done in RPGs before.

Damiean Dark,
I agree with you. The DS is awesome.
I have:
Animal Crossing: Wild World (fun!)
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (so cool)
I also have Final Fantasy 4 on reserve. Its going to be awesome. I definitly recommand FF4 if you want a great rpg to play on the DS!
Also, I use to have it and it was good: Contact. Its an action-rpg with an Earthbound flavor.
Another great, if you like stradegy rpgs is Final Fantasy Tactics A2. My dad has the game and I've been playing it. Its EXCELLENT. I highly recommand it to people who like grid-based tactical rpgs.
Oh and Chrono Trigger DS is going to be MUST have, imo!!!
Yes, I'm VERY excited. I was hoping it would be a 3D remake like FF4, but its not. That said, its going to have a new dungeon, wireless multiplayer, duel-screen & touch-screen support, plus I'm sure a new translation!
Though, I'd buy it even if it didn't have any of that! I'm a HUGE Chrono fan. I love the series (Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross). I have both for the PS1, but don't have anything to play them on at the moment. Even if I did, I'd get Chrono Trigger for the DS anyway! I'd love to play the game on the system! :)
Yep, Square has made my year!

IMO, as long as they keep the animations that they made for the PS port the game's worth the money

Thanks for the info
Nintendo has shown that small games with good gameplay can compete with massive sprawling games with state of the art graphics.

Do you think it is possible for the amazing FF7 to be made for the DS?

Meh. I've played both the original super NES and PSX versions over and over again. I have no interest in a port. A remake would be sweet, but a port? *yawn*
