BOOM! STUDIOS
Station #1 (of 5)(resolicited), $3.99 - flip test at LCS.

DC COMICS
Fables #74, $2.99  - man, Willingham just keeps getting better and better on this book.

IDW PUBLISHING
Star Trek Assignment Earth #3, $3.99 - 1st 2 issues were OK. I used to really love John Byrne, but even his art on this book seems a little "flat" for him.
Star Trek Mirror Images #1 $3.99 - flip test at LCS.

IMAGE COMICS
Freshmen Summer Vacation Special, $4.99

MARVEL COMICS
Astonishing X-Men #25 (Regular Simone Bianchi Wraparound Cover), $2.99 - flip test for art. I did not particularly find Bianchi's artwork to my tastes. But it could have been the mediocre story by Loeb as well that affected my enjoyment of their recent Wolverine arc.
Patsy Walker Hellcat #1 (of 5), $2.99 - flip test at LCS, then maybe traded
Punisher War Journal #21, $2.99
Secret Invasion Front Line #1 (of 5)(Secret Invasion Tie-In), $2.99

TRADES

Astounding Wolf-Man #7, $2.99 - Big status quo changing issue?
Brit #7 (Regular Ryan Ottley Cover), $2.99
Brit #7 (Variant Connecting Cover), $2.99 - I've gotten the other 2 connecting covers so I might as well get this one.
Dynamo 5 #14, $3.50 - Should be fun.
Savage Dragon #136, $2.99 - Yay another issue of Dragon released. That makes 2 in 2008!
Walking Dead #50 (Charlie Adlard/Erik Larsen covers), $2.99 - The Larsen cover is a 25:1 variant, right?

MARVEL COMICS
Amazing Spider-Man #564, $2.99 - The preview art from Siquiera looks fantastic!
Astonishing X-Men #25 (Regular Simone Bianchi Wraparound Cover), $2.99 - Bianchi's art gives this book a whole different feel than the normal X-book art.
Secret Invasion #1 (Directors Cut), $4.99 - Maybe, I'd like to take a look at it before purchasing.

And now you understand Grant Morrison.

-Augie

You beat me to the punch, Augie! I also don't understand most of Morrison's writing and thus can't quite grasp his (perceived by most of the fanboy population) brilliance.

Comics:

American Splendor #4 (Vertigo/DC) - by Pekar, Robertson, Haspiel, Geary, Budgett & Dumm. More true-life stories from Pekar. Honestly, kinda boring. But the thing that I couldn't resist about the book was the excellent b/w/greytoned art within from the wonderful artists. I applaud Vertigo/DC for sticking with this title.

American Dream #5 of 5 (Marvel) - by DeFalco, Nauck, Koblish & Rob Ro. This was my second issue and it ended very nicely. This is a fun, little superhero story that hits all the right points for me. The art and story are fun to read and look at. I have to get the first 3 books now, or wait for a trade. If Marvel continues this book, I hope it is the same team as this one.

Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! #1 (DC) - by Kunkel. This is an excellent book, written & drawn by the very talented Mike Kunkel. Mike has a tendency to make his characters in his chilren's books, have some adult bad behavior, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the next issue. I also hope that this book makes it past 3-4 issues, given his short endurance.

Batman #678 (DC) - by Morrison, Daniel, Florea & Major. Great, confusing read that ends in all wackiness. Above poster Scott really nailed feelings on this book. ;)
