View Full Version : Marvel's 10 Most WTF? Moments

#10: Andromeda in Iron Man Annual #10 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/imA10-1.jpg)

Here's one very strange image that's not photoshopped -- it's exactly how I found it in Iron Man Annual 10. What does this mean? Subliminal abortion protest? A reference to that Joan Crawford movie? U DECIDE!

#9: Several random Avengers in Avengers #215 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/a125.jpg)

Here we have a terrified Tigra hitching a ride on Silver Surfer's surfboard, while Captain America just mounts Iron Man and rides him like a pony. Silver Surfer ignores the scantily-clad catwoman clinging to him to stare at Cap and Tony. Meanwhile, Thor pointedly ignores them all. "The Odinson doth not know any of you."

#8: Thor and Loki from Journey into Mystery (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/loki1.jpg)

"Come Loki! Cling tenaciously to my buttocks!"

Okay, so my brother gave me piggyback rides, too -- when I was SIX. He has no excuse here, Loki knows how to FLY!

Seeing Punisher dressed up as his own version of Captain America was a WTF moment for me. It's like coming home early and finding your dad dancing around the house to 80s Madonna songs wearing your mother's nightgown. Seriously, who thought putting Punisher in that thing was a good idea?

#7: Morph and Quicksilver in Age of Apocalypse (1 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/aoa1-1.jpg), 2 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/aoa2-1-1.jpg), 3 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/aoa2-1.jpg))

Let us all take a moment to ponder on how perverted it is that Morph shapeshifted into Pietro's father in order to hit on him.

#6: Magneto and Doctor Doom (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/svtu-3.jpg), SVTU #14

Magneto thinks this is all "PIMPS UP, HO's DOWN" right up until Doom slips him a roofie.

#5: Ronan the Accuser and Rick Jones (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/ronan.jpg)

Ronan the Accuser makes Rick Jones an offer he can't refuse. No, I mean, he REALLY can't refuse. I think it's the look of manic glee on Ronan's face that really sells this moment.

Poor Morph and Quicksilver, that was more of a take care of them while i'm gone speech than a pick-up, although those giant lips always creeped me out

#4: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Wonder Man (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/twincest.jpg) in What If? #5

Yes, Pietro, who would've ever guessed that your sister would chose another man over you?

Also, is Simon suggesting what I think he's suggesting? WTF?!

#3: Nate Grey and Spider-man (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/nategrey1.jpg), Amazing Spider-Man #420

One of Nate Grey's lesser-know superpowers was the ability to rip off men's clothes with his mind, which is an unexpected level of awesome.

#2: The Sentry and the Void (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e185/Mississippienne/sentryvoid1.jpg)

Incest? Masturbation? Selfcest? Whatever it is, Paul Jenkins' head must be a strange place.

In the Ultimate universe, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver really were a couple and even kissed at one point.

1. Sentry is awesome

2. Quicksilver is not. Simon is really not.

3. It seems like Nate and Peter were talking at each other and not with each other.

Wow, you could totally put that in an ultimate comic and it would fit perfectly.

THAT was exactly what it looked like. Sodomy, it's what's for breakfast.

The void kiss thing.. now I know why I never got into the Sentry stuff.

Cap riding IronMan.. now we know that knock down drag out they had was deep seeded animosity for one another for a drunken night of Man Love they couldn't live down.

No image of Wanda crushing WonderMan's Wonderballs? That was always one of my favorites :)

I think it is Ronan calling Rick his body slave that does it for me. Does this mean Rick will be wearing a little leather outfit now.

Hey, the Sentry/Void stuff makes more sense than a lot of the stuff there. Void can't exist without Sentry, after all.

I want you all to know I thought long and hard before chosing my number one. This was not an easy decision, not with such choices as Thor, Frog of Thunder, Zemo grabbing Andreas' crotch, AoA Blink making out with Annihilus, and every time one of Spidey's villains has been totally gay for him. I may include some of the runner's up later, in descending order as eleven, twelve, etc. Y'know, just to make sure no one misses out on any crack. But without further adieu, I present:

#1: Captain America, Bucky, and a crew of Nazis from the 70s Invaders series (1 (http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/7611/invaders13tb6.jpg), 2 (http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/5117/invaders132ss7.jpg), 3 (http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/2600/invaders133ng2.jpg))

BUKKAKE! Chains! Whips! S/M! Bucky!! Nazis!! This is like every gross sexual deviancy distilled down into a few comic panels, starring a squeaky-clean superhero and his sidekick (who for some reason has the waist and bosum of a ballerina). Ol skool crack is always the most fun, because there's an innocence to it that the newer stuff lacks.

What, No one from back in the days had a problem with a tall dark shadowy pedophile taking a young boy, and dressing him up in underwear and little pointy "booties" for his feet... all the while, taking him alongside to villain fights with the likes of the joker? And to think that after, hed take him back to his cave, were they could undress and relax. Bribebing the poor kid with giants poles that they slid down to reach their secret hiding club house. Something Michael Jackson would do to entice kids at Neverland Ranch. Hell, I didnt see the grown man wearing underwear on a cold Gotham night. How unfair is that? It's child abuse !!! Oh, and the cruelest joke? He got a stupid eye mask to cover up. That Pedophile had a full cowl to mask his face. No one thought to send in a social worker after the boy wonder? The police were like.. " hey kid, can you go prance in there after that criminal psycho for us? '

Oh yeah, I'm talking about a dynamic duo... but wrong universe. No wonder the concept of batman and robin, and his sick pedophile outfit never made this top 10 list.

Meh, that's just because Frank Robbins sucked in the 70s. And yes, he did, just in case any defenders pop up from the classic comics board. I swear, it's like they do searches for Frank Robbins' name.

In any event, you can find worse Bucky bondage moments in the original run. Hell, Bucky was either tied up or riding Cap like a pony on damn near every cover back then.

The Black Panther wedding issue.

Really, Hyperion/Nighthawk. It's a depiction of the horrors of Darfur. In context, it's not funny at all, and was pretty damn shocking in the book.

Although, as we've been discussing over on the X-boards this morning... apparently the Marvel Holiday Special 1991 reveals a continuity story that takes place between Uncanny X-Men #97 and #98 that reveals, "Yes, Virginia, Santa Claus is a mutant."

.....Sorry, Mr. Robbins.

Hey, I didn't know there was a Betty in the old Cap. So Steve, Bruce Banner, and Namor all had their own?
