Akine82

Yes but they can be left out because it is the power cosmic giving them that strength while it is real power it is now true PHSYICAL strength. if you want to a make list of them By all means you can, but it really wouldnt be a true stength list. Thor tops mine because as it stand right now he is about 10 time stronger than he was, as he posses everything odin did, and odin phsyical strength was about 10 time that of thor

Not including the cosmic level and restricting it to Earth based beings i'd have to say
1. Sentry (he no-sold Terrax with the power cosmic, that makes him a whole new level of strong)
2. Hulk
3. Thor (Pre-Odin Levels)
4. Count Nefaria
5. Juggernaut (full power)
6. Hercules
7. Wonder Man
8. Iron Man (with a constant source of energy)
9. Wonder Man
10. Thing

Surfer would whip gladiators ass, if you take away all power and only leave phsyical and don't let him amp his strength up then MAYBE..
Thanos is leagues ahead of any earth hero on strength. He man handles surfer too and was able to hold his own against Tyrant (who bitch slapped a handful of cosmics a lot of them on the list) for a good while and didn't die

Not counting cosmic, and looking at STRENGTH
1) Hulk/Sentry/Thor
4) Hercules
5) Juggernaut (yes, after Herc...'unstoppable' isn't the same as strong, and Herc has been on a major push lately...JQ has also said he's one of the big 4 that Marvel are actively trying to separate from the pack
5) Beta Ray Bill
6) She-Hulk
7) Thing
8) Wonder-Man
9) Ms. Marvel, as much as I hate her being forcefed to us as being awesome
10) Namor

Nyssane 'It shocks me that She-Hulk's not on anybody's list. She has twice defeated carriers of the Infinity Gem (one of whom Gladiator was pwned by). '
To be fair, the first time, she convinced the referees in the first instance to withdraw the infinity gem as a contraband instrument before beating the carrier.
The second occasion she went up against the power gem, she also had the Fantastic Four, Hercules and other big guns on her side. She beat the gem carrier by tricking them. The power gem stays with a host by sheer force of will, once Titania had been tricked into believing that She-Hulk was dead she lost the power gem and then Shulkie popped up and nailed her.
If anything im regreting leaving current Ghost Rider and Black Bolt of my list.

He would win.

Silver Surfer, Thanos, and Gladiator are in the cosmic realm though so they can destroy planets under their own power easily. Actually Odin could lift only 65 tons and was weaker (physically) than Thor. He can then magnify his strength using the Odin power. It was similar with Zeus, who could lift 90 tons (when he did not use his power to magnify his strength).

It's easy to destroy something but it's in my opinion far harder to keep something from being destroyed which is why Hulk trumps them, because while they could indeed destroy a planet with little effort, none of them to my knowledge has ever held a planet together with the power of their own muscles. Also I don't think Thanos of Surfer wouldn't destroy a planet so much with their bare hands as oppose to use of their other powers or technology.

Well, if we're restricting it to earth based persons:
1. Sentry
2. Juggernaut
3. Hercules
4. Apocalypse
5. Thor/Beta Ray Bill
6. Abomination
7. Wendigo
8. She-Hulk
9. Wonderman
10. Namor/Namora
The next notch down would be Thing, Ares, Heimdall, Absorbing Man, Sasquatch, Dr. Samson, Titania, Rhino, Thor Girl, Colossus and probably a bunch of Eternals.
I didn't count Hulk because he varies so much - in some incarnations Beast has given him a run for his money, strength for strength, and in others he can out do all of these except for the top two.
I didn't count Snowbird for the same reason - she *can* manifest herself in forms which could usually shit all over Herc but that's not a constant. Meggan is in a vaguely similar situation - she could boost her strength to rip apart Sentry if she went into a significantly powerful form.
Also, Thor's ranking may seem low considering his recent boost from the Odin Power ... but he's always been enhanced by his magic belt and now he can use magic to boost his strength. He's not as strong as you may immediately think.

it's hard to make a list, since many of the stronger characters of marvel are described of having unlimited physical strength. not counting cosmos,
1)Apocalypse or Juggernaut
2)same as 1
3)Hulk
4)Onslaught
5)Silver surfer
6)Thor
7)She-hulk
8)Gladiator
9)Sentry
10)Colossus (i'm a pretty big x-men fan)
Most Powerful Earth-Based Character:
Jean Grey and Phoenix/White Phoenix of the Crown
Her powers are unlimited, and the phoenix and her are truly one, as Death as said, she's the rightful owner of those powers. It's part of her mutation.
It's been said many times that Apocalypse has unlimited physical strength. He's also able to shapeshift to grow, and of course get stronger; he also can gain different powers from doing this (with limits of course). He is immortal, and doesn't just have strength as a power, he has also been known to teleport he is very smart and tricky also, dodging hits is very easy thanks to his shapeshifting/flexability. that's my reasoning for him. I just hate that he hasn't truly shown his power.
Juggernaut Also has just about unlimited strength, and has the power of cyttorak. The theory, though, of once in motion can't be stopped, questionable. What happens when he faces Blob, with the ability to become unmovable using some control of gravitational forces?
The rest may not be the ideal list, butt it's good enogh for me.
oh yeah, the Hulk. I don't think of him as having unlimited power, his power grows with his anger. Emotions teeter and totter, there is a point where anger grows so high, that it changes into another emotion, maybe sadness or something. It just doesn't seem to me to be possible for anger to just keep growing. Plus, Hulk has probably shown his most when his loved ones died. If he's got anything more, he would have shown it.

it's hard to make a list, since many of the stronger characters of marvel are described of having unlimited physical strength. not counting cosmos, Hi and welcome to CBR...I can certainly tell you're a big X-fan...as your list and comments heavily suggest that as well. Let's clear up a few things...
1)Apocalypse or Juggernaut
2)same as 1
3)Hulk
4)Onslaught
5)Silver surfer
6)Thor
7)She-hulk
8)Gladiator
9)Sentry
10)Colossus (i'm a pretty big x-men fan) Interesting list...but since you've included the Silver Surfer, I must pose the question: Where is Thanos? If you're going to include cosmics, then Thanos belongs on top of that list. But back to Surfer...why he's placed below a guy like Apocalypse makes me kind of scratch my head...it's clear you don't really know much about him, but that's okay. Also, going by your list it must be said that Apocalypse is ranked a little too high...ok not a little too high, but WAY too high! Onslaught in his first form (Xavier+Magneto) could have wiped the floor with Apoc...and did so with the Juggernaut, yet he's ranked below them??
Most Powerful Earth-Based Character:
Jean Grey and Phoenix/White Phoenix of the Crown
Her powers are unlimited, and the phoenix and her are truly one, as Death as said, she's the rightful owner of those powers. It's part of her mutation. Phoenix...mutation...*snicker, snort, chuckle*...most of us on here understand that the Phoenix should be taken with a grain of salt. As should almost anything cosmic that comes out of the X-verse. Phoenix is the biggest victim of hack writing...ever. All part of some X-agenda, I suspect, to elevate her status over the more mainstay and established cosmic characters, such as Eternity and the Living Tribunal.
Here's the thing about 'unlimited strength'...it's really not that unlimited. Hence the term 'hyperbole'. I know you believe Apoc is the top dog, or one of the top dogs, but where's the proof? Until the day comes where it's actually proven ON PANEL that Apoc possesses all of those powers, he's not making any top ten lists...period. Yeah he's smart and tricky, and can teleport, but do you honestly believe he's worthy of being ranked above guys like Thor, Silver Surfer, and Gladiator based on what he's done ON PANEL? Nevermind what you've read on bios...what's on panel is what counts here. What has he done? Thor alone has consistently bested guys Apoc's level, and then some. If little Jean Grey, (without the help of the Phoenix Force), can rip off Apoc's bio-mask exposing his HUMAN face, it's safe to say that Thor, Silver Surfer, Gladiator, and even Sentry, (who's still unproven in my eyes), can do it quicker and better.
Juggernaut Also has just about unlimited strength, and has the power of cyttorak. The theory, though, of once in motion can't be stopped, questionable. What happens when he faces Blob, with the ability to become unmovable using some control of gravitational forces? The theory of him being unstoppable has already been proven wrong...War Hulk was able to do it, and it's safe to say that many on your list are capable of such a feat.
Hulk is too inconsistent to really tell...but in today's continuity, (or actually last year's), he's clearly among the top dogs of Earth's superpowered heroes...or anti-heroes, however you want to label him.

sorry, ss is a mistake, butt u do have a point for the rest of it. i just wish that apocalypse would show his true power, istead of always using his goons. he did take over the world in an alternate universe though.

but i still stick with Jean Grey as most powerful earth based mutant No that was only North America he took over...and really only because there were no heroes around to stop him.
Also, Brian Braddock was the head of the Human High Council...over the obvious choice to lead Europe: Victor Von Doom, (who was depicted as a mere agent...only in an X-book!)
Franklin Richards has more credibility than Jean Grey as the Earth's most powerful mutant.

Have none of u seen "Next Avengers" All of them die.... yes Captain America, Black Panther, Black Widow, Pixie, The Giant, HawkEye, Thor....... unfortunatly did not die at the time Odin died and was forced to retreat to his home. Hulk was being to wimpy and ran away because he was hurting everyone let me recap (Hulk had beaten the shipoopie at of everyone even Thor HULK picked up Thor's HAMMER (really heavy only can be held by gods) Hulk grabbed his hammer and Smacked Thor wit it therefor knocking him out this happened in Ultimate Avengers 1) Ultron had killed everyone besides Iron Man, Vision, and Thor. P.S i dont know X-men that much so i put him as 5 cause i heard that he like killed most of the X-men and was the strongest son of a b they ever fought. Namor and Wonderman ahead of The Juggernaut?
i was always under the impression that a large part of Juggernauts "strength" was that he was so invulnerable and unstoppable, as opposed to his strength.
These three are another three that are probably interchangable. They have all fought Hulk successfully at various points in their careers.

I think that the only time that Hulk was really able to handle Juggernaut was when he was Hulk, horseman War of Apocalypse, when he was all amped up by ol'blue lips.

Not including the cosmic level and restricting it to Earth based beings i'd have to say
1. Sentry (he no-sold Terrax with the power cosmic, that makes him a whole new level of strong)
2. Hulk
3. Thor (Pre-Odin Levels)
4. Count Nefaria
5. Juggernaut (full power)
6. Hercules
7. Wonder Man
8. Iron Man (with a constant source of energy)
9. Wonder Man
10. Thing
wonder man twice is he really that strong?

1 Thor
2 Hulk
3 Red hulk
4 Sentry
5 Hercules
6 Wonder Man
7 Juggernaugt
8 Black Bolt (the moon is close enough for me)
9 Colossus
10 Thing
I resever the right to switch in Blue Marvel once his powers are more established.

Green Scar Hulk matched him blow for blow and then outsmarted him. I'd count that as a win.

No matter how close to the moon you are, Black Bolt is very unstrong. Bordering on dis-strong.

Hmm, i'm surprised you guys didn't go further then galactus for most powerful characters/plot devices/beings in Marvel Universe.
1. One-Above-All (he is god after-all)
2. Living Tribunal - The fist of the one-above all
3. Galactus/Eternity/Death actually to be really technical the living embodiments of vengence, equity and neccessity in their own realms would be the next most powerful after the ones above.
6. Other cosmic entities.

If I was laying money, I'd bet on the Hulk, sure.
I just think Juggy gets a bad rap, is all. Very few people can mix it up with Hulk and walk away, on their own 2 feet.

I think the Blue Marvel should be on this list...just based off of the feats in the first issue alone. I think it was enough to place him on The Sentry/Thor's level.

Unless Blue Marvel has a gaping hole written into his character, he'd seem almost too reliably powerful.
At least Sentry's a flake.
Beyond the: You told me I couldn't hero anymore because I'm black, so why should I forgive you now? Arc, I'm not sure how much staying power Blue Marvel has.
Especially as he's packing an "Only I can defeat him" villain.
With Sentry, he IS his villain. And beyond that, you can smack the Sentry around just fine, due to his being part nervous wreck, part scared of the world, and part misfiring-God.
To be honest? It's hard to put Sentry on this list. He can't maintain a consistent level of power (which, for me, is thrilling to read - what a nut!), regarding his strength, and combat focus.
Yet he raised the dead with nothing but a touch. THAT is power, for a human.

Lists are fun!
The list consists of mostly earthbound and well known heroes (I've left villains and powers such as Galactus or the Watcher out of the ranking)
Ranking of Strength (defined as raw physical might, at the characters most traditionally depicted power level. For most of the characters on the list it really is a "Any Given Sunday" type contest, dependent on power fluctuations, plot demands, and (of course) popularity).
1) The Hulk
2) Thor
3) The Silver Surfer
4) The Sentry (I've seen more hype than results from the Sentry, ranking may improve if we see the Sentry face off w/ either Thor or the Surfer)
5)The Juggernaut (currently not quite a hero, but deserves a ranking)
6) Hercules
7) Wonderman
8) Namor
9)Colossus
10) The Thing (Mr.Grim is traditionally weaker than many of the other powerhouses, but is a resourceful fighter and never gives up)
Honorable mention: Ares, Black Bolt, She Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Beta Ray Bill , Drax the Destroyer
Ranking of Power (defined as Strength backed up by other abilities such as energy manipulation or combat skill)
1) The Silver Surfer
2) The Sentry
3) Thor
4) Black Bolt
5)The Hulk
6) Hercules
7) Drax the Destroyer (raw power backed by actual combat ability)
8) Ares
9) Juggernaut
10) Namor

Hmm...Excellent Point There. I forgot about Blue Marvel. I would have to say for me list by judging off what I've seen.
1) Hulk/Blue Marvel
2) Juggernault
3) Thor
4) Sentry
5) She-Hulk
6) Hercules
7) Thing
8) Namor
9) Titania
10) Colussus

What does your post have anything to do with the thread? This isn't an blue marvel isn't going to make it thread, or I like Sentry because he's white. This thread is dedicated to the top ten strongest characters in Marvel. At least try to stay on topic.
Even though it is kinda funny that just the mention of a black person equaling in the top ten strongest characters automatically means he's too powerful. Black+Power must be a scary sight to some lol.

Wonder Man would kick Hercules' demi-God teeth in.
Hmmmm, interesting that you say that. Cause he's tried a few times... An well... I'll let his last attempt in Incredible Hercules tell the story.
I just cant believe Herc is so low and in some cases non-existent on some list.
As for Hulk holding a Mountain being a feat no one has come close to doing... Hecules both HELD Manhattan from splitting in two. An before that, he dragged the whole island back from falling into the bay... Sooooo, how heavey are islands these days.
1: Thor (You know why)
2: Hercules (You so know why)
3: Juggernaut (War Hulk beat weak Jug, and side stepped full powered Jug)
4: Hulk (He is not the top dog strength wise until he's mad for awhile)
5: Namor
6: She-Hulk
7: Death Head II
8: Colossus
9: Captain Britain
10: Ajax (From the Pantheon, remember him?)
My Oppinions:
SENTRY: I need to see more. Once he's fought Herc and Thor, okay. Till then one big fight is not gonna sway me.
GLADIATOR: Love Glads, however it's a fact that most of his feats are do to his tele-kinetic powers. His mind makes things lighter. IE. Reed explained this as to why the Baxter Building didnt collapse unders it's own weight when he lifted it.
THANOS: Not a 100class brick. Close but not... His strength allows him to fight 100class, his fighting skills are what allows him to win.
If I REALLY included everyone in Marvel would go like this.
1: Celestial
2: Celestial
3: Celestial
4: Celestial
5: Celestial
....
There are like 15 of them... So you see where I'm going with that.
