This just came out today and from the moment i opened the it to the first page I knew it was going to be good. Defiantly not disappointed with this one shot. The art even had some mignolaesque qualities to it. What are your thoughts?

I loved it. In fact, I wouldn't mind a Johann mini-series.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I don't really know what I was expecting. It was a cool.

BTW- The first thing Johann does when he gets his containment suit: kick ass.

Oh, and that full page of the monster opening it's mouth was pretty wild.

This is a great story. I liked the expanded version of his origin.

An enjoyable little tale, with some wild images here and there. I particularly liked the nod to The Exorcist with that last panel, even if it was unintentional.

It feels far too similar to NOT be intentional.

A good book all around. Maybe not up to the regular BPRD stuff, but a good read.
I want a story about the Chinese village though.

From the script for the last page.

FIVE A nice silent panel of JOHANN standing (at night) in front of the little -- and quite distinctive looking – cottage-style house of our friend Tarsh at night, his windows all lit up, à la “The Exorcist” movie poster -- but not too à la.

Earlier panel descripts had called for the house to be very distinctive from the outset, so that when we got the exterior shot here we'd immediately recognize it.

Awesome.

What a cool little outing. I loved the story. The "mouth" page is trippy. Ben Stenbeck's art (and colouring? credits for Dave Stewart are the cover only) are fantastic. I hope you have more gigs lined up for him.

Good stuff, need more!

The title may be the best part.

It makes me want to write a song based on Johann with a funky bass, disco drums, jangly guitar and some keyboard organ effects.

The chorus would go something like, "He's an ectoplasmical, ectoplasmic, he's the ectoplasmic man, he wears a suit of containment, pure entertainment, he's ectoplasmic man!".

...I may write this song.

I can dig it.

Don't forget to rhyme "ectoplasmic" and "fantastic!"

That's the bridge, with group vocals,...
