I went over to Amazon to remind myself when this book is being released (July 16), and I noticed that you can now "search inside this book"
you get the front and back covers, table of contents and the first 6 pages of the Joe R Lansdale story.
but, you can also do a "Surprise Me!", and get a random peek at some of the other pages.
I'm totally digging the saxophone playing skull head guy in a suit on page 48!!

I guess they found out about the "surprise me!" thing. They've disabled it for this book.

I did the same thing with the Complete Far Side book. Can't afford it so I read a good chunk of it on Amazon using the "surprise me!" feature.

Picked it up today. Read the introduction by Christopher Golden and have jumped the rest of the book to the top of my "to read" pile.

I love the painted covers on the Odd(er, est) Jobs collections.

I picked a copy up at my LCS on Thursday along with BPRD: the warning. I think the book hits the big chain stores this week (7/16 as you listed).
and just like the Companion, right there on the cover is ....
... a freakin' sweet piece of Mignola art!
I'm happy that this book is the same size as the other two Odd Jobs books and has a matching spine as well. I'm not sure why the new DH novels are at a slightly reduced size, but at least it looks like Emerald Hell and All Seeing Eye will be similar in size.
I'm taking my time with this one, reading one story at a time. The Lansdale story, which made this collection possible, is manic brilliance. A very dark story told in a very enjoyable crazy manner.

About 2 thirds through the book, and I'm really enjoying it. "The Thursday Men" in particular is a stand out for me, as is Lansdale's, "Strange Fishing in the Western Highlands" and "Repossession". They feel very Hellboy.

And yes, the cover is gorgeous! Love Mike's watercolor work.

I really like Golden's intro. "They don't know what's good." is my new phrase and I want to check out his house now.

Road trip.
